International Space Station Overhead tonight - twice

I-bert that looks like a plane lol, i could only see one bright dot and the solar panels around it

I know. But it was definitely the ISS.There were no planes near it when i took that. Its just an old camera with a crappy zoom.

It cost me £700 about 6 years ago and the ones on phones are probably better now. :p

I know it was that ISS as it was the only thing moving at great speed and in the right direction so pretty dissapointed lots of people saw it brighter than me..:(

Is it Mars I can see south just above the horizon? I got my telescope out and got a good view of it but as it is only a cheapo one it was a bit blurry. That is the brightest thing in the sky for me tonight.

Goin out tonight at 12:30 to get another look.

I was just at a mates house messing with Worldwind program looking at Mars.Very cool.

Yes, im sure that is Mars as i believe that is the brightest star in the sky normally. That or perhaps Venus but i dont know how bright Venus can get.

I think venus is out of sight at the moment. I have never seen venus that clear before. My money is on Mars.

Venus is the second brightest thing in the sky after the moon.It probably makes up 50% of UFO sighting its that bright.

Just saw it, without warning so complete blind luck! :D Was taking a long exposure of the sky, and watching shooting stars (saw 5 in 20mins :D) and suddenly a massively bright Z shaped object flew over, first time i've seen it :) Gonna try to spot it again tomorrow. Will post the pic in a few, but it's just a trail :)

Will the sighting in an hour still be southwards?

You won't be able to see it unless you have a reasonably powerful telescope, once it reaches us, its behind the earth, so no light hits it.

Next is tomorrow at 9:45 :)
