, I've been single for longer than both of you put together . Then again, I'm really picky and rather be single than in a relationship and miserable.I think that my anguish would remain the same as most of my close friends are not single or are married now. Low wingman count.
In a similar position to you in that they have a gf or married but that doesn't stop them (helping me out) to introduce their female friends, etc to me. It helps if your close friends knows tons of people though.
True, but IMO it works for very few people, from what I have been reading in this thread. However, my previous sentence is not to put people off.. as the saying goes.. "you never know until you try"

It's a numbers game, simple as. I'd say for every 30 messages you send expect 1 reply, unless you're Brad Pitt of course.

Funny thing is, I've found that girls I've met in real life and spent time with that I'd not normally consider as "pretty" (ie: the "plain Jane" type) can become considerably more attractive over time as you get to know them. So I suppose this backs up how shallow interweb dating can be...
I'm stuffed anyway as I'm not keen on kids, so that rules out about 99% of women. Out of the remaining 1%, it'd be nice if they were musical (uh-oh, most of us musical types are a bit mental anyhow), or at least able to put up with me playing/practicing piano at home. Oh, and not chavvy.
I've had some interest from a girl who earns several times what I do and I find it intimidating and a bit of a turn-off tbh. I fail, I know!

Yep it's me, we got divorced about 3 years ago.
I know i'm no oil pointing i know but i can get them interested enough to check my profile, i'd say 80% of mails i've sent have resulted in it but then it stops.

Yeah, girls can get partners a lot easier than men by dropping their standards, even if men dropped their standards it would still be a lot harder to get a partner
Same here (guys, that is.. not girls!) This is why I think people shouldn't take online dating too seriously to begin with. I think of it as a place to meet new people and make friends, after you have gotten to know someone and realise how nice a person they really are then looks might not even matter anymore.
