Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

The only thing holding me back now is my lack of 4 wheeled transport.. and a proper job.. but the girl I'm talking to at minute is pretty understanding, having some pretty long conversations!

If it doesn't work out atleast I would've made a friend.

The job helps (if they are looking for a provider, being old fashion), and car means you can go places.

I mean you can still date without a car....did at uni, but then at uni everyone lives in the same city so its easy and you never go anywhere but to the union, pub, club or what not. Online dating means they can be miles away if your search radius is large and more difficult if you don't live in one of the bigger cities like London, Manchester or birmingham.

went on a second date with the first ever girl I've met on match.

again went ok but i don't find myself lusting after her. she wants to meet again so I've said ok as I've been out of the dating gaming a long time and i need to make an effort (stuck in my solitary ways lol) even if it doesn't go anywhere i need the experience if you know what i mean.

has anyone else done this, persevered to see where it goes?

i mean statistically we won't end up together as it takes up to 5 different dates to find your partner (god why am i even thinking this lol)

I used to do this but then realised I knew exactly what I wanted in a women. Once I had this breatthrough I usually didn't see them again unless they were what I was after.

No need to spend much time with anyone to figure out. First impressions are important, and if the spark's not there you can't force it no matter how hard you try and how much time you spend with someone.

Having said that, I'd not just ignore him. Tell him you don't see you two going anywhere and wish him luck.

So you basically spent almost no time at all with the guy and yet he's already not your type? I can kinda see why you're single if you act this way. Unless I'm wrong, your other post seems to suggest you didn't even get into the party with the guy.

Just say that you're sorry but you've realised he's not your type, and that it's better to be honest with him than to be do what most girls do and ignore.

Nothing wrong with that.

Yep, I'd be happy with that if a girl told me that. (been told that a few times in fact :()

yeah, think I'll go for this 3rd date (invited her to the house for a dvd just) and see how it goes, then be decisive either way

i guess another part of it is the effort in getting another date. it took me 4 months to get my first one and it's like , here we go again starting over lol
there's just not enough hours in the day :p

Statistics, rules, thoughts, why why why?!?! Just go with, see what happens. Like you said why are you even thinking this. If I fancy them I go until it just doesn't feel right. Nature will guide you!

To an extent, I've gone on dates before that I wasn't that bothered about just for the experience. A bit like attending a job interview that you don't mind if you get or not.
Aye, I got talking to a girl a week or two ago and she asked to meet for a coffee. I wasn't that fussed about her to be honest but she was only a 15min drive so I figured why not? It's good practice since you always talk about the same stuff on 1st dates.

This isn't really related to internet dating but its going in here anyway!

Met a girl through a friend down in London a couple of months back at a gig, hit it off, spent the evening all over each other you know how it goes. Same thing happened again down in London (she lives there) a few weeks later, we drunkenly arrange for her to come see me, which after speaking to her soberly in the morning, she does! We spent all day in bed together all good stuff!, texting constantly afterwards for a week or so, arranging to meet up again, but then suddenly the texts stop and I am not sure why....

There is about 110 miles between us which is obviously not ideal, but she seemed really keen as am I.

I imagine she may have just found someone closer to home, doesn't want to get in too deep on a long distance thing or whatever, but why not just say something? Its not like I wouldn't understand! Girls are crazy?! :|

she might be up the duff lol

That is an interesting theory.....

MisCheif, admittedly, it's people that are crazy, but I tend to care more when its a girl being crazy :)

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should say to her? If anything?

Last text was from me which was wishing her luck with the internship she started on Monday, since then I haven't had anything back.

I don't want to harass the girl but I just want to know if we are still cool or if something is wrong yaknow?
