I reckon the pay sites have to be a rip-off. It's in their interest for you NOT to find someone as that way they continue to generate revenue from you. Wouldn't be surprised if they'd used sneaky tactics like that, and also you don't even know if the person is using the site anymore, even if it's a genuine profile...

lol. the sad thing about all this is that she could be real. she could be tired of the normal guys she's been dating and has turned to online dating for something different. it could be that the photo she chose is her most successful model shot and is proud of it so chose it as her profile picture, and i'm passing on a great opportunity to go on a date. I could also be a fool in love and blinding myself from the truth.

Ok after about 10-12 dates from POF & Match I have had enough.

I've been rejected, rejected others, been strung along, but the deciding factor is the amount of lies people tell about themselves then disappear when their web of deceit starts to wobble.

I've learnt many things from my online dating experiences though, I'm much more confident around women & a better flirt, not nearly as nervous about asking a girl out on a date & therefore am going to just get out there & ask out some normal women I meet in everyday life rather than the basket cases who reside in cyberspace.

Online dating might work for some but not for me, it sucks.
 
Been back on there just under a week and have 3 dates lined up. I'm being much more selective than previously and I was picky before.

I'm also talking to an American girl who's coming over in a Month to live/work in England for a while.
 
Update.

First date I had went well, second date I had went really well. Third date arranged.

I really like her and she likes me loads too.

Hate it when people send me a message and they don't have a picture. I usually ignore them as they are normally fat slobs but I've just had one from what looks like quite the fitness fanatic. A tennis instructor, runner and boxer....
