Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

I got another post-date text "You're really nice but lets stay friends".

Time to disable all my online dating profiles and focus my energy on other things I think.

Last night I had a date with another Scottish girl (not met online but figured I'd mention it). Technically the 2nd date, but 4th time I've seen her (twice we met out with others). Had a table booked somewhere for 8.30, cancelled that at 8.15, drank until about 10.30, then came back to mine, stayed in bed until 3pm today. Giggity! I really like her, but she is 5 years older than me, she's 31, and I'm just not sure we're in the same place.

well i've officially given up. just couldn't bring myself to log in, search, message to get nothing back. i'll leave my profile up but i'm not checking it any more. i got nothing out of it not one date. maybe i'm too picky with the girls, maybe my profile was rubbish but the messages i got sent were from people i didn't like and the people i did like i didn't get a reply or if i did they were unable to have a convo. guess i got to go outside now and find my princess. xmas is coming up so everyone gets all cute a snuggly and hopefully desperate so that's my only hope
 
Bit of an update on my situation..

I met the girl who lives in LA on the 7th of October after nearly 3 months of emailing each other every day. I drove down to London as she was there looking for work while she stays in the UK. We had an amazing weekend together and after having a long chat about her job situation I invited her to stop with me to look for something around my local area. She agreed and for the last few weeks we've been having a great time together. It should feel odd that we're basically living together but the months we spent emailing really broke the ice and gave us the opportunity to get to know each other. Once we met and confirmed we had real chemistry the rest was just a formality. She's a fantastic person who has already restored my faith in relationships. I really couldn't be happier and I believe she feels exactly the same way :)

Future plans are for us to stay here until April next year when she returns to LA to finish her degree. At that point I'll rent my house out and join her for between 6-10 months depending on the visa I get. Once she's graduated we have to either figure out a way to stay in the US or head somewhere else. One thing we both agree on is not wanting to live here once her degree ends.

Oh and she emailed me :D

We have someone at work who uses internet dating, twice he has used it and twice they have took all his money and run away - think that kind of this is good if you want a quick lay... but not long term

however;

I also know people who have met on WoW and have been married, had kids etc and never been happier - I think if you meet somewhere that you both have in common, such as an online game or online conferences such as skype.


The bloke that works with us is a very strange man who flips at people for no reason and the women he online dates weigh around 22 stone... not everyones cup of tea.
 
Well I for one have given up, going through a difficult time at the moment and got a bit depressed last week so I didn't message the girl I was seeing and consequently probably thought I was being an ass when I was just mulling the distance over.

Ah well, I'm going to try the aproach of it'll happen when it happens.
