Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

to be honest it depends on the guy because some can be young and act young (i.e. idiots) and others can be young but actually be more mature than guys older than me. (if any of that made sense)

generally it's been 19 year olds because they thought i was 19 too :confused: though they still seemed keen when I said i was older.:o

ah well there's always that chance then :D , but in my ideology, i always want to feel young in a relationship the "cheesyness" factor to an extent if you get me... dont be put of by them SS after all the heart wants what the heart wants ;) just make sure its not some crazy fool :)

some clubs do a "traffic light night" where depending on your status depends on what you wear/what badge to wear

Green = single and available
Amber/yellow = open relationship/looking for fun
Red = Not available/wasting everyone's time :p

it's a really good idea I think, and makes the whole thing so much easier, nothing more annoying than talking to a girl in a bar/club for a good few hours, only to find out at the end she's got a boyfriend, and while it was nice talking to them, you can't help but feel like you've wasted your time ;)

I've given up on all dating sites for the time being. I just can't be bothered with the effort of it.

Doomed for a life of spinsterhood it would seem......

Well, I decided this weekend to get back on the market and see how things were going on the dating website front. Online dating has been responsible for many happy years for me, so I have faith in it - enough to make it my first port of call when I think I'm ready to start dating again. 24 hours in and I'm speaking with some intelligent, attractive women already - as ever, the first few seconds on the rollercoaster are always the ones where you feel the most apprehension but sometimes you just gotta ride through! Yeeha! :D

Don't say that! That makes me sad.

One year and counting of singledom, but I still don't feel low enough to engage in 'net dating.
I've been properly single now (other than a brief fling over a year back) for 15 months. I've had one snog in that time, who then decided "we weren't right for eachother" maybe i'm crap at kissing then :p

a friend told me about those. does sound like a good idea. might have to find one nearby :D in May I will have been single for two years :( i'm not saying I can't happily cope with not having a boyfriend but it would be nice to find someone.

don't worry SS, the right person will come along when you least expect it!

knip there are probably around 1'000 men on this site who would die for a date with you. Fair enough, 99% will be hopeless nerdmongers, but that leaves enough to get lucky. :D

Pretty similar situation to me then. I had a fling with a friend of a friend a few months back. She lost interest pretty quickly as I was probably a bit strange\still mostly hung up on the ex at the time.

Maybe you had funky breath at the time? ;)

Anyway, I've watched this thread with interest over the course of its life and its kind of made me realise that forcing the issue (with internet dating) possbly isn't the answer. I might be an old romantic but I still firmly believe that the right person will just happen organically.

But does anyone konw what she looks like?

She could be tall, slim and stunning, or she could be short, round and have hit every branch in the ugly tree on the way down.:o:p

thanks lol

I'm on the rogues gallery if you're that interested in how many branches i've hit :p

6000 posts. Christ on a bike, no wonder I'm single

Right, I'm going to go out and do something more manly now and weld some bucket seats into my track car LOL

Likewise (except the spinsterhood ;) ) here. It seems recently that I've put an awful lot of effort into dating people who aren't interested in dating in general.

Or that's what I'm telling myself anyway, hehe. Ah well, time to give up for a bit I guess, and come back smiling in the summer!
