Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

She said she liked him so why not?

I'm friends with 3 girls I met on POF.

Her last post stated that she thought he was a nice guy ergo doesn't want to hurt his feelings, and that he's easy to chat to. If the latter is true she would have told him face to face and offered friendship instead, however she only sees it as a transitional stage to let him down 'gently'.

Course this all based on my own experiences which maybe less than yours.

Just had a girl open chat me,

Her:
hi
r u lookin 4 a gf

Me:
yeah, although I won't rush into it.

Her:
y
wen u gt a gal lyk me

The txt talk alone put me off.

I get the feeling there was more to this chat, where's the juicy content? :D

*Follows Rimmer shaped blur*

I probably should have saved the chat, from what I remember I tried explaining that dating is important to help create a lasting relationship to which she replied "thts ********", ofcourse not with as many stars. Then I put something like "the txt tlk iz lyk a bg trn off" and that finished it.

If anybody likes that sort of thing, you may find her here. For some reason she reminds me of Dr Evil.

You must have been very bored to be chatting to that, was OCuk forums refusing to load for you? :p

Well, I've been a bit more successful recently. Currently chatting to a lovely American girl, and also another girl who currently lives up North, but is from around where I live and will be back down soon. Also become quite friendly with another girl who now has a boyfriend, but she's good for chatting to :)

I sent the "just not feeling it" text. Not had a reply as yet, not too fussed if I do or don't. At least its done.

NEXT! :D

Edit - he just replied "ok fair enough, and thanks for letting me know. Good luck"

So I had a reply from a girl saying that she's speaking to someone from PoF at the moment and doesn't want to start anything else until she sees where it goes...

Is it just me being cynical and thinking it's just a blow off line? :p

I've used this line before as a polite way to say I'm not interersted.

Ususally if I'm seeing someone and think it may go somewhere I hide my profile.

Yeah, a while back, but here it is againfor further scrutiny: http://www.plentyoffish.com/viewprofile.aspx?profile_id=8807371

Maybe my standards are too high? I just see most of the women on there and I just feel the bile building up in the back of my throat... :D

Take out the following parts:

  • " its hard work maintaining a body this average!"
  • "I'm not photogenic or as boring as my profile probably makes out! Give me a chance!"

The first one is a negative and doesn't come across as sardonically amusing as you probably thought it would, and the second one is also pointlessly negative with a slight air of desperation at the end... no-one finds someone who is down about themself from the word go attractive. It's a dating site and you should be selling yourself without coming across as arrogant.

EDIT - And have a shave. :p

I'll echo what Richdog said.

Confidence can be projected through your profile and it will have a positive affect on how many email you receive.

You don't sell a product by mentioning all the negative things about it!
