hmm i'll give this a try since my ie7 stops responding from time to time, hopefully this version might fix it, which i doubt.. strqnge thing is FF works fine.

tried to install IE8 today to have a look at it, but it said it couldnt install as im using vista 64bit

Make sure you get the x64 version for Vista.

but is the still like the 64bit IE7 where flash etc still dont work?
i had hoped the 32bit version would have installed as vista 64 bit does have IE7 32 bit

Yeah that's still a 32-bit client. It's just for use on Vista x64.
