Internet nostalgia

I remember this!

CWE asked the classic question about wanting games late and working or early but broken, this was back in 2000. I wonder what the outcome was for that question since those forums are now gone.

Seems to have not gone in the right direction since most games are released broken and often get delayed at the same time.

I'm not pointing fingers at games like The Evil Within here but basically I'm pointing fingers at The Evil Within.

Everyone had a website on Geocities or Homestead! 56K was funny - I always remember taking nearly 4 hours to download a 60mb program, now I get it in about 4 seconds.

I wasn't a huge fan of Real Player either, but I still consider it as internet nostalgia :-) The other one I didn't like was Quicktime. Thankfully nowadays / over the last ~10 years, we have Media Player Classic which is like the basic version 6.4 Windows Media Player with bundled codecs including Real Player and Quicktime.

Real Player and the rm file format.

.....buffering..........(3 minute wait)......"Please install Real Player 5" :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I loved CWE, watched it all time to keep up with computer problems.

And Kate Russell.....every geeks dream girlfriend! Shes still hot now and hasnt aged much over the past 15 years.

Yep. I remember endlessly trying to download the Age of Empires 2 demo, which was about 30mb, before the 2 hour window reset on the 56k.

Browsing wayback machine I managed to find a forum I had over 10 years ago.

The level of fail within it is unreal.

Playing counter strike (the original one) early 1998-2000+ where everyone in the country was on 56k except all the NTL guys an gals in Swansea with there isdn lines an the start of calling them all LPB'S (low ping b#######s)

Them where the best gaming days when you killed sumone with a sub50 ping when yours was 300+

The only time I've ever used a clan tag when gaming an not since probably 2003

[UOcUK]Crasher

Now that's nostalgia for me!!!
