iOS 7 Review

Within the next week or two I've read on the news sites.

I'm amazed that some of these issues were not picked up in the beta testing. What on earth was everyone doing?!

Arguing about the icons. :p

To be fair it's pretty stable for me, not had any big issues, but there is the odd glitch here and there. I really like the new design overall, but there are a few areas I'm not so sure about. I expect it all to be sorted within a few months, no bugs, design smartened up, etc.

My battery life was a bit worse but I've done a few tweaks and it's better than before now.

Though I only own the iPhone 4 I don't need or require a 5 5c or 5S. They are all full of SH. anyway. Now they have just updated my firmware 7 for the second time in a week because It was making people Dizzy. I really don't know about anyone elses opinion but mine is that it is a poor OS which relies on people trying to find all the hidden things and some things I didn't have before.
The good:
Find My iPhone is now password protected so that no one can erase your data without bricking the phone.
The swipes are questionable especially when you first come across them and say you accidentally turn on Bluetooth when you neither want it turned on. What happened to me was I did turn it on by accident and my battery dropped through the floor. The iPhone 4 is notorious for this problem so I only have it on when I am specifically using Bluetooth.
The home screen is better orientated but still requires work.
The Bad:
Well for starters it looks like it has come out of a Looney Toons cartoon. There are still bugs that annoy me like when closing an app to get to the Home screen sometimes you end up with the task scroll screen instead. You have to press Home again. When typing in an online App like Twitter or FaceBook you get massive stalls in types. I can be 20 characters ahead of the actual keypad whereas it was more responsive before.
Next the Icons look more like pasty buttons, in fact I would rate Metro as better, and for me to say that is a miracle because I loathe Windows 8 Metro. But in every category of loading and selecting desired Apps the Lumia comes out on top.
I am seriously thinking of getting a Windows Phone next time around because this is nothing but Tacky arrogant crap. Or I just will not bother.

Thanks for that. I never noticed it wasn't there before, but then I regularly use an iPod touch as well so might have confused using it on that? I suppose I can always ask siri if I need to do some sums.......

Cheers

Dave

General consensus is that this has not gone down well with the public. However I think it's just a matter of not likeing change more than anything.

As someone that supports IOS in the enterprise, I'm disappointed that they haven’t updated the calendar or mail apps. They offer no new functionally at all.

It's just a new skin which is disappointing.

Anyone know of another good alternative to the mail app? For example the main issue we have is you cant collapse folders in the mail app on the iphone/ipad. So if the user has loads of folders, they have to scroll through them all to get anywhere!

We can remove ACL's on the imap server which will hide the folders, but then they also dissapear in Thunderbird.
