iOS7

I think thats clutching at straws, for example android is largely a collection of apps, not sure if iOS is the same but on android the things that I've made crash by installing dodgy versions are things like the gallery app, mesaging app, email app etc etc.

For me crashing on android had generally stopped since gingerbread 2.3.7. I have both the iPad and s3 at present and I found that both have equal likelihood of crashing. Not sure what other people are doing to their phones. Also some custom roms are hugely poor on android, you really need to know what you are installing.

Yup people who say android isn't stable are the ones that look at/use old versions on crappy phones i.e. before ICS or/and install custom ROMs, tweaks or/and install dodgy/crap apps

Android has come along way since then.

My one S is the most stable phone I have ever had/known (out of friends/family mobiles), I have literally never had to reboot it due to any slow downs, battery drain etc. Have only ever had 2 system freezes/hangs and that was when the phone first came out, that issue was fixed with a software update long ago.

Regarding the app side of things, currently with 70+ apps on my phone (have at one point had 150+ installed), the current and only one that pops up with a message saying ".....force closed" "sometimes" is TV catchup and that is when I exit the app. Any other time I have had problems with other people after a new update, there has usually been an update out within a day to fix the issue.

To say Ios/iphones are super reliable compared to android just isn't true anymore, seen plenty of people in the apple sub forum posting about lag, battery drain, force closes etc.

And within the next year or so, apps will be of even better quality since google have done a **** load of stuff for the developers which allows them to make better quality apps.

I sort of like the 5 (but not enough to buy one), and those I know with a 5 all complain of its battery life, where as my old 4 could easily survive a day of abuse and still be fine for tomorrow too. But it still doesn't drain battery like my One can! :p

I'm hoping that they just make it larger (not by too much) and give it a higher capacity battery.

That's strange, I find the battery life extremely good on mine. People usually load their phone up with all sorts and have no end of things syncing, or end up with things keeping their phone awake when they complain of really bad battery life. Either that, or their expectations are unrealistic. I consistently get 40-48 hours of pretty heavy usage, which is more than enough. I'd say it's more or less the same as the iPhone 4, which was great.

However, the iOS 7 battery life isn't so good, the phone is running warmer than usual, expected on beta software, it's still good enough, but that's my main issue with it so far. Everything else seems to work well.

Initial impression it feels unfinished and bit sloppy at places.

The UI feels unfinished and rushed out. The Safari, Reminders, Setting, Phone and Camera icons is simply not good enough.

Maybe it is time for themes? Apple could make a killing selling premium themes.

Well it is the first dev build

Do you understand what the word Beta means ? Do you understand how software is developed?

My biggest gripe with iOS is the home screen. OK, I understand that it's just there as a launcher for my apps, but the usability is awful.

I try to keep the number of homescreens down to one, because I hate swiping page after page to find an app. But every time I install a new app it places it on a new homescreen all on it's own! So then I have to move it back.

And then there's the (lack of) sorting of apps. If I don't remember where I left the icon I have to scan the whole page to find it. Why can't I sort alphabetically? Or I could use folders. Great, so did I leave Goodreader in my "Utilities" folder or my "Reading" folder? And the business of dragging the icons around the screen so they'll all budge along. Why can't I leave gaps between my icons?

And then the keyboard. There's no long press for numbers. There's no long press for symbols. There's no "swipe".

I love the hardware of the iPad, but having used Android since a HTC Hero up until 4.2 on my Nexus 7, I genuinely can not see how apple fans can repeatedly say how user-friendly iOS is and how complicated Android is.

These are the things that I would like to see changed in iOS 7, and from what I've seen posted so far, it doesn't look my wishes will come true.

The icons look more fisher price then ever and the colours look garish and horrible. The only cool thing was the wallpaper moving around when you change your view of the screen. expect it appear on Android within the year, either by google themselves or a third party.

Been able to do that for yonks.

I wonder if Samsung will now sue Apple for copying a load of Android features. :p

One of the most blatant items is the Notification Centre which Google has patented. Surprised they never brought this into play, if Apple can get a fine for the simple bounce back patent this has got to be worth more.

Amused at the stories saying that the icon design was done by the web and marketing group, whilst the rest of the OS was given to the app design team. I thought it looked like it had been designed by committee.
