Wrong quote

Because they don't do £30 cashback and it would be delivered next week as well. Why not just order it direct from Apple and have it delivered to home or workplace? Seems less hassle.
This talk about the colour production on screen is making me want to leave the mini for now until its sorted...
In all honesty I'm only making a big fuss of it because Apple haven't seen fit to mention that the colour accuracy of this retina mini is worse than the iPad air.
They're essentially making out both iPads are the same, but already we know that the CPU is clocked 100mhz faster on the air and the colour gamut is wider.
I can't see my Mini being delivered on Friday like UPS says. It's not moved from Hong Kong since early this morning.
suspect yours is there too.
why buy an iPad mini? I want to buy one but not sure if i actually use it. Im into my photography.
Personally, if I were in the market for a Mini, I'd do exactly that as I suspect this issue could become bigger, especially when the reviews start appearing, and Apple may be forced into making improvements.
Agree completely. It's very underhand of Apple to effectively "hide" this not insignificant detail and paint the Mini as simply a smaller Air, identical in every
other way.
There are a lot of people who've been deliberating between the Air and the retina Mini lately. Frankly, unless you absolutely *need* the smaller size of the Mini for some reason, I'd get an Air at this point.
Out of interest, how would you propose that Apple advertise the difference in the screens so that it's clear what the difference is to consumers?
I'm looking at the details of the iPad mini with retina on the Apple website and it saysNot a clue but that's not my problem, it's for marketeers to think about and apply the right 'spin' to. Just because I can't think of a good way of differentiating them in advertising and publicity materials doesn't mean Apple shouldn't though.
It's a "lie of omission". By neglecting to say anything at all about the screens, they're effectively saying they're the same, which is far from the truth. They've made a point of expounding on the vibrancy and accurancy of the retina screens in the full size iPads thus far, yet they neglect to mention that the Mini's retina screen won't look as good as all the larger retina screens that have come before. That's what's underhand.
But they did talk about wider colour gamuts in both the iPad 3/4 and iPhone 5 keynotes. So they know all to well that when people hear the screen described as "retina, same as the air", people imagine they mean in all ways. But it's clearly inferior in gamut and brightness.
I suppose if you're naive you might expect that. We really should be encouraging consumers to research and investigate these things themselves instead of expecting to be spoon fed.
How on earth is misleading advertising, me being naive?
How would anyone know that the colour gamut is any different in the retina mini when there are none on display and the specifications are not listed anywhere.
Even initial previews from respected websites did not mention the inferior display.
If you ask any staff in an apple store, they'll just say, "it's a retina display, same as the air". No mention of it being any different. Same with the CPU speed being different yet Apple not disclosing the frequencies.
