iPad Mini...

So I ordered a 16GB LTE Mini. In black.

I wasn't sure if I was going to do it but I decided that I want to use the EE LTE network.

I decided that I couldn't really justify replacing my third gen retina iPad which is great.

And I won't need more than 16GB as I'm not going to be loading retina apps and I'm trying to keep it as cheap as possible! I realise lots of apps are larger due to retina whether you have a retina iPad or not but I think that using it carefully I won't have an issue. I'm not a gamer. I like magazines and can use spotify for music.

I realise I have to wait until the end of November but I simply don't see any
Point in a wifi model that has limited use.

Ordered a 16GB white version (Christmas present for the GF) using the store app - job done in about 5 mins and got my confirmation email at 8:07. Can't argue with that.

Not fussed about the two week wait as I'm away next week when it was meant to be delivered on the 2nd.

Hopefully she'll be pleased with it!

What colour has everyone gone for ?

Gonna get this for my niece(aged 2) as she loves the iphone.

Edit: 16gb White one ordered. (Birthday Present for my niece)

100 %

sorry but adding only 130 pound we can get full sized retina display with A6X

That's true but a big percentage over the initial price of a 16GB Mini.

I want something small too as i find the proportions and size of the normal iPad too big.

Might get my mum an iPad mini for her birthday/christmas but I wait till December when they might start appearing for £249 from other sellers.

No, it continues to outsell every other tablet combined with more than two thirds of the market and large profits per unit.
Why would they slash their profits and cheapen their image to sell a few more units? You realise that the Nexus and Fire are sold at cost right? And it's obvious that a mini iPad will be much better specced and built than either.

Sold at cost and what it costs amazon or google to manufacturer them aren't the same thing. The nexus 7 certainly doesn't cost £159 to manufacture and package.

As for specs, the mini iPad specs are lower than the nexus 7 yet it's significantly more expensive. No surprises there though.

£270 tablet for a 2 year old who will probably drop the thing down the stairs within a week.. Wish i had money to spend like that!

But do you want the credit card bills...?

Even though both have openly admitted they don't make any profit from their tablets? To most people that is sold at cost.

That still doesn't mean that they cost £159 to manufacture and package (in the case of the Nexus 7).

Do you think the shops and distributors are also selling them at cost?
