iPad2 opinions?

They'll surely be a Skype app.

If your movies/TV rips will be in HD, you'll still possibly have to convert them with the Xoom:

It doesn't charge from USB like the iPad does with the 30pin-to-USB either, so you have to carry round the charger as well.

The movie compatibility thing is really disappointing, but I coild get over that.

I REFUSE to have a tablet that needs me to have yet another damn charger in my house, when usb is perfectly fine for others.

If I already have an iphone, is there any point at all getting an ipad? Apart from playing a very extra games and the like, is it good for anything else?

Looks great, day 1 purchase for me without a doubt. Most likely go for 32gb wifi in White, if not, black.

Same here. I haven't got an ipad so this will be my first purchase of an apple product. Can't wait and it looks awesome. I'll go with 32gb wifi too. I wonder how much it will cost?

A 32GB WiFi model will be about £540.

Boo. Why's Garage Band daft? I thought it looked lovely, and probably the most compelling Apple-made app on iPad.

From the Engadget page updates it looked boring and rubbish, however, having watched the full video of the presentation, it actually looks pretty cool.

I am probably being a bit of a misery. :p I actually enjoyed messing with it in the apple shop on the macbook. I suppose it's just a bit of playtime after introducing the ipad.

It's a pretty good spec upgrade, but without IOS5 it's pointless upgrading if you have Ipad1. Even when IOS5 is out it depends what's included to if you will need Ipad2.

It's good but I'm more interested to see what the prices of the ipad1 will drop too 2nd hand, might pick one up if they're cheap!

The ipad2 is almost the same price as a decent laptop so I don't see the need to downgrade to a tablet for my needs (watching films/browsing internet, pretty basic things).

The ipad 16GB Wi-fi only has dropped to £329 on some big retailers and as low as £289 for a refurbished one so it will be interesting to see the price changes in the next few weeks

I was always going to upgrade to the new model, I want 3G internal rather than having to carry a mifi around with me. I sold my US import 16Gb iPad yesterday evening for a very good price and will see if I can get the new one on launch day.
Out of interest how much? Or would you have to kill me if you told me.

What is sure is that IOS 5 will run fine on iPad 1, they sold 15million of the thing and they are not going to annoy all that fan base by making it incompatible already. I say this is more a 3G to 3Gs bump than anything else.

It may run, but IOS4 destroyed IP3G and slowed it down to barely usable levels. Or may have features disabled on ipad1

I usually like Apple stuff (have a MacBook & iPhone) but if i decide on getting a tablet i would rather go with Android as not only will i get more for my money but it won't be as closed.
