iPhone 12 or Samsung S21

How?

I tried adding a custom gesture which is a workaround but all that lets me do is give it a name and then it seems to do nothing, doesn't appear to allow me to assign an action to it, and if you can it's not obvious...

Well done for proving my point that things are often infuriatingly awkward / difficult on iOS for no particular reason :D

Just swipe from one side of the screen takes you back to the previous page...?

I have been an iPhone user these last few years and my current phone Xs max has been faultless in operation since new, used to be Samsung and android user so wanted to have a play with a S21. It was smooth and a lovely screen but wasn't long before i was frustrated with it in operation.
I then picked up a iPhone 12 Max pro and i was at home again. Spec's wise not a lot between them, but IOS is just user friendly and although the S21 was smooth and had the edge camera wise, I have a DSLR for pictures. So my iPhone 12 Max pro arrives today! staying with apple and IOS.

So you didn't read my post.

I said...

In fact I've come to like the fact you can swipe back from either side on Android.

You can only swipe from the left to go back on iOS.

A silly decision when you have a big screen, right handed and have to stretch. Real smart Apple.

Always used to be Android for me, I enjoyed my S9 but the battery life was abysmal (3.5 sot at 720p)
So moved to a IPhone 11 were it’s 7-9 hours easily. I’m really tempted by the S21+ or Ultra but from Reddit I’ve seen battery life is 5-6 sot which is pants.

I think you have to take things like that with a very big grain of sand with way to many variables in it. how many apps you have running, how much you use your phone if you game on it. listen to music. how many emails and notifications you receive, how you actually condition the battery, all play a factor, As many people say no two people are the same, thus how each person uses their phones will be different. And not being funny some people might be happy with short battery life. I myself am always near somewhere to charge my phone. and with how fast they charge now it's not really a problem(for me anyhow) Whilst the battery life on my old Samsung galaxy s21 ultra(uk 512gb) was not the best i still managed with it perfectly. i will say this though.; the battery life is far far better on my new Samsung galaxy s21 ultra (uk 512gb). but that is ofc my usage patterns and the battery is phone is still learning.

not that long ago I swapped my work android phone to an iPhone as I always wanted to try the iOS - and I do like quality of iphones..

it did not last long in my hands...went back 2 days later...I just couldnt get my head around the email client and way emails are shown.
and as this phone would use in 90% for emails, i gave it back and am back on cheapo samsung ;)

and i HATE itunes and syncing music...when my OH asks me to rip her cd and sync via itunes, it literally makes me feel sick ...

do I want to give it another go at some point ? Yes. When ? maybe couple of years time haha

Maybe try an Android phone that isn't a Samsung? The Exynos processor is known to be a lot less efficient than a Snapdragon.

Neither, my OP7 Pro is working just fine. lol

Stick with your S21, I wouldn't use an iPhone even if Apple gave them away for free, just because of iOS.
