edit: doesn't even need activation works fine!

update was super quick, slow contacts and texting seems to be fixed

Yeah works great for me to. Not only has the texting speeded up but the rest of the phone seems to be back up to speed after 2.0 slowed it a bit.

Got it downloaded with no issues on my iPhone only.

Contacts scrolling speed is indeed sorted out.
Safari seems a bit quicker.
Swear I had some SMS lag this morning...need to check it out later at lunchtime.
There have been calibration tweaks to the signal bars - as a result I saw max bars in my area for the first time, where I would normally get 1-2.

These observations were from 30mins of use.

I installed the update, and iTunes said it activated the sim (using original iPhone sim), but when I put my Standard contract iPhone sim in it goes to emergency.

When I put the iPhone sim back in, it flashes up a message saying it needs a signal to activate!

any ideas?

Edit: FIxed now, re did it, this time with my contract O2 sim in from the start, worked a treat and no more slugish texting!

If i update from 1.1.4 to 2.0.1 will i need to do ANY kind of jailbreaking/activating/unlocking to use an O2 simplicity in the iPhone ?

I know without jailbreaking i will not get my 3rd party apps, but i dont use many anyway.

Also, is the iTunes remote player thing free or do you have to purchase apps from apple apps store on the iPhone ?

It's because it's the whole software firmware that the phone is running on. It's a full download then wipe then reformat in a sense.

Same with the PS3.
