iPhone 2.0.1 Released

Sounds like scare-mongering to me.
 
Just downloaded and installed, can confirm two things for certain. Phonebook contacts are fluid, from opening to scrolling to selecting, getting at it from every which way i've found in the phone so far. And typing bugginess seems to have gone, though that one will require a couple of days testing.
 
Can confirm (unfortunately) that the text lag issue is still there on 2.0.1. Nowhere near as frequently, but something is still causing it. :(
 
Got a new simplicity contract today, and i'd read that with the 2g version you can update it via itunes and it doesn't need unlocking?
Updated, and now its asking me to sign up, does winpwn work with 2.0.1 yet or? if not how am i going to get back to 1.4/2.0, get an earlier version of itunes and restore then winpwn?
 
"Asking me to sign up", do you mean activate? Can't you just activate it with your O2 Simplicity SIM? (I have no idea what actually happens when you try to activate)

Hmm strange. Can't help you with that, but I don't blame you for not wanting to enter CC details.

I'm sure I've heard of people activating iPhones on non-iPhone O2 SIMs though....

Yep, even worse is the stutter lag I get on my Touch when I hit the 'sleep' button during playback. The music still stutters randomly for 2-3 secs.
 
Anyones unlock sound disappeared since the update?

Mine doesnt play anymore, it does when i lock it but not when i unlock it.

EDIT - Grrrr, a swift restart fixed it, 2.XX is soooo buggy!

just used winpwn to 2.0 so i understand now i should be able to upgrade to 2.1 without neeeding to unlock ?
 
While ultimately a bit more stable, there are still some programs causing crashing issues. Contacts seems to have settled down now and normall 2-3 seconds after hitting the button and it is instantly scrollable.
 
If it's only App Store programs crashing then it might just be that those themselves have crash bugs. A lot of them were obviously rushed out.

Yeah, its NetNewsWire that is crashing. I find the app store itself quite buggy too.
 
Right I have updated my iPhone 2G to ver 2.01 and my friend has done the same.

On my phone I can install and run apps from the App store, my friend can not, every app he selects installs but when you choose to run it crashed back to the main screen so to speak.

He is on an 02 simplicity contract but that doesn't seem to be the issue as putting his sim card in my phone the apps work.

Any ideas?
