Iphone 2.0.2 update out!

So for people on jailbroken iphone 2.0.1

Download 2.0.2
Open Pwnage/WinPwn
Create custom ipsw using 2.0.2
Update iPhone in iTunes using custom ipsw
Restore all backed up content

Those simple steps?

Tried it. Everything seems OK but oddly my signal has gone down a bar or so. Can't say what the signal is like out of the house but I'll see tomorrow.

Roll on 2.1 and some more features, rather than bug fixes.

Apple should fix the MobileMe issues as well!

Still hasn't fixed slow backups, maybe thats an iTunes problem.

Mine takes a bleeding hour to backup!

Don't back up?

Just click the x when backing up has started and it'll skip to syncing.

Just do a backup periodically, that's what I do, it saves time.

That's what i do also. But since installing an application then restarting the phone it didn't reboot anymore so had to resort to a recovery and restore from a backup.

I have just bought Super Monkey Ball (which is great! Shame about the 2D sprite though) and i want to backup. Just deleted a load of apps off the phone to see if this speeds it up.

Doesn't help that i have;

Beatmaker - 118mb
Apple Poker - 128mb or there abouts
Super Monkey Ball - 35mb

And a few other large apps like Enigmo, Trism, Zen Pinball. Almost deleted my PhoneSaber app, glad i didnt as you can't get that anymore.

Anyone else having issues with 2.0.2? Updated fine today, seemed nice and responsive. This evening the application store updater was showing updates for apps that I had uninstalled, so I decided to reboot- switched it off, switched on and I just get the apple logo now, phone never starts.... any ideas?

That happened to me a couple days ago on 2.0.1. I had to restore.

Hold the home button and connect the dock connector while still holding the home button, it should come up with the itunes splash screen on the iPhone, start iTunes and do a restore from a backup. Just hope you have a backup!

I just woke up to get ready for work and the appstore icon had 134 updates on its icon  its gone after I synch'd the phone!

Ah thanks matey, that appear to be working (I have a backup from the 2.0.2 update). Bummer though as it's going to take hours to restore. I've been reading up a bit and I do hope I haven't got the problem experienced by lots of others, where it gives the Apple Screen of Death on every reboot.....

Hmm three hours later and the restore hangs at the end of the progress bar. iTunes is caning one CPU core at 100% and doing nothing. So I killed iTunes and rebooted my PC. Meanwhile, my iphone rebooted itself, boots up fine, all the apps are correct with no updates that shouldn't be there, albeit no music on the device (so god knows what it was restoring for three hours....).

Anyway, I've started a sync now to get all the music back, and now iTunes is reinstalling all my apps  So I fully expect to be back at square 1 shortly with the same issues all over again..... well I say shortly, it looks like this sync is going to take another 3 hours :(

Is it just me, or is the iTunes sync system really, really rubbish?

Nice, and now iTunes has lost half of the apps I bought recently (they show under my purchase history, but none of them are in iTunes, even after selecting "check for purchases"). When iTunes was syncing and removing that apps that I should still have, it took about 5 minutes to remove each app. I think I may have to restore to factory settings. I've pulled my photos off it, any idea if I can save my text message history?

It's really rubbish! It keeps telling me I have an update available for an app but when I go to update it says there are none! Also, I delete an app from my iPhone and then when I dock it re-installs it on to the phone again...

iTunes is a bit ropey, there's quite a few bugs I have.

No. It reinstalls because you've told iTunes to sync applications ;)

Delete the app from the computer and do a sync.. no more app on the iPhone.

The only bug is the update one.
