But all phones have to have *something* still on to keep the time correct. My n95 never had any problems turning itself on! It's ok now, because I've grabbed myself a usb lead off a flatmate! Thats one thing apple have got going for them...with the amount of iPods about, you're never going to be far from a charging cable!
 
So how do I upgrade to this from an unlocked (on orange contract) and jail broken iphone that's still on 1.1.4 due to hearing all the horror stories about all the 2.0 and 2.0.1 firmware? :p

Also does it do a backup before it updates? I can't remember since 1.1.4 was so long ago now.

I restored to 2.0.1, pwned 2.0.1, restored in DFU Mode, bootneutered it, job done.
When the 2.0.2 came along I just updated in iTunes and all was ok.

If it doesn't winpwn 2.0.1 and restore with that, 2.0.2 update in iTunes which will keep the unlock and activation but will loose the jailbrake.

Help! I've put the phone into dfu mode and created the custom firmware with winpwn but I keep getting the error "an unknown error occurred (1601)".

It won't even restore with normal firmware. Help?

Edit: I've tried going back to 1.1.4 and it still wont :(

What happens if you try and restore to a apple 2.0.2? What error?

Edit: Quick google suggests using a different USB port or a different PC to sort the 1601 error.
 
I managed to get out of DFU mode the same way you get into it, the phone is fine, but before I got out of it I tryed: Reinstalling itunes completely, different usb port, re-ipwning it and none of them work. All got the same error :(

Still at least I haven't bricked it.
 
Well mine has already gone back to normal with SMS lag as of this morning. Truly getting sick of this now. I don't want to clear my messages either to see if that resolves it :/

Backup, restore and then make new phone instead of using the backup?

I have my backups of 1.1.4 and my previous 2.0.1 before I restored, and if I need to get anything back I just either get it from the backup file (notes) or put it back on the phone.

Everything is running nicely now its a new phone!!
 
Could do, but making a 'new phone' would mean losing my SMS text convo's going from past experience. Just got back from lunch and tried various reboots of the phone to see if it would clear the issue. No luck.

I want 1.1.4 back! lol Balls to the app store and its rubbish apps! :/
 
it's really getting anoying now with this text/contact lag. Just how long and how many patches is it going to take apple to fix this issue. Really wished I stuck with 1.1.4 now :-(
 
i have a 2.0.1 iphone and when ever i come to sync it it says syncing "rich" then after 5 secs goes back to my music library and wont update...any ideas of what to do?
