iPhone 2.0 firmware available now

Ah, fair enough. I use my PS3 with TVersity as my media player so no use to me. I am however, looking forward to TVersity on the iPhone.

Update iTunes to 7.7 and it will work. I had this at first too.

Done and updated and loving it so far!

Edit: I am struggling to find the iplayer application? (I know that a link can be added but it looks like in the screenshots above there is a BBC Iplayer App) :)

The device failsafe utility
(or Device firmware upgrade as someone says),
better known as DFU
it's a failsafe basic (and quite trivial) bootloader
present on the iPhone.
This is the weak point of the iPhone 2G and
hopefully 3G.
This post maybe means nothing to you,
but before anyone will say I copied/robbed anything
just remember you read it here first.
I will not release anything tomorrow.
And I strongly suggest
not to upgrade itunes nor the iPhone.

Oh god i think ive bricked mine.

Tried to do the update but came up with an error saying that "ipod" could not be updated. Strange cos im doing it on my iPhone.

Now the screen has gone black with the logo and the loading symbol constantly spinning at the bottom:



Its been doing this for over an hour now.

Is there any way to reset it or have i completely bricked it?

Good job i never tried to jail break it or the thing would have probably exploded.

Tried plugging the iphone into the computer and doing a hard reset?

(Press the home button and the sleep button on the iphone simultaneously and wait for the screen to fade). Then when it reboots it should pop up and say an iphone in recovery mode has been attached please restore.

Then update itunes to 7.7 and perform the 2.0 firmware update :)

What firmware were you on before you tried to upgrade? 1.1.4?


Easiest way is to put the phone into recovery mode. Then use some tool to boot it normally (depends on firmware version).
