iPhone 2.0 firmware available now

Does the e-mail app crash on startup? That's what happened with mine after upgrading, in the end I had to do a full restore without restoring my old settings to get it working. Texting is still iffy, but it happens less often than it did before.

The mail crash is a common problem, but isn't it specific to jailbroken / unlocked phones?

Regardless, the OS is in a right state.

Yep, the dev team released a tool the other week. Loads of people have used it, including me.

Works fine with my T-Mobile sim. Just experiencing the same sluggishness that everyone (legit and non-legit) is with regards to contacts etc

Otherwise, works great, and I love the app store.

Now, email doesn't work, and hasn't since I've updated the firmware and sometimes the texting is SERIOUSLY slow. This is really annoying as I have to reboot the phone to get the texting back up to speed.

Does anyone know how to get the email working?? This was one feature I used quite a lot and I miss it.
If your phone is jailbroken, follow my last reply in this thread for the best fix to prevent Mail crashing. If not, follow the reply before the last one :p

So can you confirm then that unlocking 2.0 on iPhone 3G is possible? I thought it was only jailbreaking that was working currently.

Am I right in saying I can give my wife my old iPhone and she can just get a simplicity SIM and put that in the iPhone and run version 2 of the software?

Apparently Firmware 2.1 has been released to developers so we should see that before long.

It's supposed to fix a lot of these bugs and also adds additional GPS features for forthcoming sav nav apps.

if i install 2.0 on my unlocked phone will it delete all my numbers and messages??

I did the upgrade to V2.0 in iTunes and it backed everything up for me first, I let it upgrade to V2 and then unlocked/jailbraked it using Winpwn, when I went back into iTunes it just restored all my contacts, texts and everything else.
