iPhone 3GS - Available on Orange soon

Looking forward to this. I love my iPhone, but as someone who uses the net a lot on the move, O2's rubbish data network is a daily source of frustration. Aside from that in Oxford I'm lucky to get a signal at all indoors (despite all the other networks having the level of coverage you'd expect in a fairly large city), the 3G network is horrid and oversubscribed even when I do manage to get a signal. It keeps dropping out, and I rarely see more than 300kbps.

According to the coverage maps, Orange's 3G is a lot better, so a switch seems to be on the cards.

Thanks jim was just about to post for you guys been a busy morning here in the office as you can imagine. So there it is peeps an offical date Tuesday 10 November the iPhone 3G and 3GS will be available on Orange...dam the media for spoiling it :p

Not exactly - the £30 tariff offers twice as many minutes and texts.

Edit: and they do shave a few pennies off the cost to buy

The £30 tariff is ridiculous, I am looking at the realistic 2 at £35 and £45.

Orange should have offered more, dropped the cost of the phone or done something to make the deal better than the O2 one.

I get a few discounts with Orange as I have been with them for about 10 years but I bet none of them will apply to an iphone contract.

Very disappointed with this, guess I was being naive for thinking that it would be any better than O2. Never mind, will wait for the Voda announcements in the new year, not going to hold my breath for that either.

I might consider it, going to have to look at the various tariffs and make a decision.

There's no chance of them tying me up to a 24 month contract though.

Bit of a hopeful moment, but I don't suppose these are in the slightest bit negotiable?

I got the mrs a 24month contract there not that bad but if you like your phones i know where your coming from :)

"but I don't suppose these are in the slightest bit negotiable" of course not, remeber be nice ;)

how long do the batteries last before they need replacing ?

and how much does it cost to replace them ?

im so confused now as to which phone to go for ...:(

Very poor choice of plans imo. None with more than 500 texts apart from the £122.34 per month plan. And for a 500 text plan I'd be paying for hundreds of minutes a month that I would never use. Shame there's no dolphin options. Was interested in getting one but i'm not 'bend over and pants down' interested :(

I'm shocked, SHOCKED that they have brought out a carbon copy of O2's tariffs. :p

Here's website with a handy spreadsheet to show you the savings. Up to 63p cheaper!
