phone apple up and insist on getting it replaced, they may try to get you reset and set the phone up as new through itunes. when i dsiconnected mine at 5 in the morning it be dead by 12 noon.

they are pretty slow in doing things only just got the box in which to send mine off for inspection today 1 week later. and much to my dismay the bag is RM R1 return bag. i know 2 peeps who have had their phones lost like this when type the tracking number in at royal mail site its shows as still being present at thier local post office 3 weeks later. i'll be coughing up £5.50 for special delivery instead

I think I may try to get mine replaced in an apple store. I can't be doing without my phone for more than a day unless i can get my phone calls diverted to my work phone.

Faults happen with any hardware I guess. :rolleyes:
 
My battery only lasts for about 6-7 hours if i'm using it. No idea how people are getting 12 hours let alone days!

Is the 3G backup thing an official problem?

well, after restoring a setting up as a new phone the battery thing seems to have improved, but is still pretty bad. I also restored from a 3g initially and my batter was great at first.
 
The battery on my new iPhone4 is massively better than the 3G. That needed charging twice a day, this one is lasting 2 days with regular use

or if your on windows with yahoo and gmail i synch to both just in case. i use the built in notes app to jot stuff down and this also cant be synched:/
 
With sporadic use throughout the day (a few 2d games, some light internet browsing and texting) my battery is down to 40%.

This is after running battery doctor 12 days ago and using all recommended settings, full charge each night and using it from 08:30.

Is this standard drain for the phone?

Also, Vodafone are absolutely horrible for 3G coverage. Oh and I seem to have stopped getting the 'No SIM' error since putting gaffa tape in the tray and then removing it?!
 
my replacement arrived yesterday, used it a lot today browsing listening to music and only 79% battery used massive improvement over the first. tho even with the bumper when i touch it i lose a signal bar, when my mates or my brother hold it the signal meter remains max, must be my body flab
 
a friend just picked up her ip4 and it dropped from 4 bars to 1 holding it left handed (as u would to hold in your left and type with your right index finger, so not a unatural position)

it dropped from 4 to 3 with a case on...which makes it the same as every other smarthphone, so great external (well...utterly covered by a plastic case with a comparable thickness to a normal phone casing) anntena.

no other issues tho
 
I have had to book an appointment for next week! to get mine checked out/replaced in store at the 'genius bar'. I get no 3G connection whatsoever, even 2g doesn't work. I get to see both symbols but that's about it. Wifi at home works great. Orange CS have 'exhausted' all options and after the run around, left me to it to speak to apple directly.

Orange has no 7 day cooling off period apparently because I bought it from their store. Only online/telephone orders have it. I really wanted to leave the phone in the store today, and cancel my contract and sit it out. But I'm stuck with it.

With this problem and the run around I was given by Apple and Orange CS has left a bitter taste to this purchase. They have killed any excitement I had with the phone.

As for the rest of the phone - very nice all round, holding the phone in my left hand (the commen way) I drop signal bars but havn't dropped any calls yet.

Lessons learnt: early adopter is bad, Orange CS is bad, start a contract not in store/but online/phone.
 
I just got a Temperature warning on mine!

A yellow exclamation mark and text below it saying, your iPhone needs to cool down before you can use it.

I could not do anything but make emergency calls lol, had to restart the phone to get it working again.
 
sandeep i had that on mine yesterday

took it into the genius bar today they plugged my phone into a mac and it showed having reached a temp of 642 degrees.

He told me it had a duff sensor and gave me a new phone.

Anyone get this strange problem in iTunes when syncing their iPhone 4?

If I load iTunes and after syncing if I click on any of the library sections on the left this message comes up.

If I click apply or don't apply and sync again and click on any library section the message comes up again, its annoying!

Tried reinstalling iTunes and recreating my iTunes library and it didn't work :(
