iPhone 4S Reservations?

Stratford City: no pickup dates

It is physically impossible for white iPhones to be available for 5 seconds and then become "unavailable". There is no way.

I think Apple should add a RECAPTCHA text field at the end so it stops all the script kiddies from reserving too quick :p

I have been reliably informed that Apple stores are scheduling all staff to work this Saturday.
Could it be possible that the reserve facility will work fully on Friday night at 9pm?

Im sure he sits and laughs at these forums every night.

They are so secretive, they should be masons!!

Forgive me for being dense but how do you reserve an iPhone? Do you have to be logged in to select your local store or something?

What a right royal arse they have made of this, again!!

Is it really Apple's fault that so many people seem to want a 4S? You can bet that the manufacturing plants are churning these out in vast quantities. You just have to be patient.

To reserve your iPhone: select your store and there will be no stock.

That is how you reserve an iPhone.

If there's no stock it means that other people reserved it first, or the store isn't getting any stock. They aren't deliberately withholding a device from you. They would gladly sell you a 4S if they had one.

Honestly, what is with the conspiracy theories over everything Apple does? Why is it not possible that the most simple explanation is the correct one (i.e., that there isn't enough stock to go around!)?

Actually, there was never any stock. It was the same in every single store except for Stratford City, where you can reserve an iPhone, but no pickup dates. The system is well and truly mucked up.

If there's no stock then there's no stock. If there's stock, it'll show. This system is no different to the one we had last year for the 4.

To reserve your iPhone at Stratford City: select the store, choose your 64GB iPhone in either white or black and enter your login details. Finally, try to click continue, but you won't be able to as there are no pickup dates.

That is how you reserve your iPhone, I wouldn't recommend going to the store as your reservation will not exist.

I assume there's something broken in relation to the Stratford City store then.

Been banned so I couldn't update sooner, but I went into the Apple store in Exeter on launch day to get a 16GB white 4S. They had none left.

So instead I got put on a list, like what happened last year, and they took my email and told me i'd get a message to let me know when they had stock for me and I could go in and collect.

Well, reading about you lot on here doing it this way, I got worried and went back today to ask what was going on - guess what? "No knowledge of any list existing, it's all done online!" Thanks Apple!

Anyway, was checking the Princesshay store at 9pm tonight and either they sold out in seconds or nothing went up. Seriously, I don't get why they didn't do it like they did last year. It worked so much better than a potentially broken reservation system that benefits those who can click fastest.
