iPhone 5 reservation

Still no luck, if anyone has any advise, please do let me know!

Quite honestly, I'd continue waiting and reserving. Even though Apple have temporarily ceased the reservations, my local store have not had any stock since launch. Give it a week or two and the situation should improve.
 
This will be the worst "I got a reservation" post ever, but...I got a reservation! 64GB in black, to be honest I wanted the 32GB as I don't really want to spend the extra cash, but...I have £85 in Apple Gift Card vouchers lying about. Had to sacrifice a Magic Trackpad to top that up, but to be honest, I haven't found it brought anything more than my mouse did, so it's okay.

There was more purpose to my post, however...I'd say that the reservation system is first come first serve, not lucky dip/lottery. I reserved at 9:08 for a 64GB and got that reservation, but didn't get any of the reservations for the 32GB (which are likely going to be more popular).

Hey guys,

Been reserving 1 at convent garden and regent street everyday for 3 weeks but no luck.

Would I be best to just go ahead and order one? (Sim-free) If so, where is likely to have stock? 32gig black.

Order online and spend the next "3-4 weeks" chancing the reservation. If you manage to get one reserved you can cancel the online order, if not you'll have it in the post at the end of the month.

Why not? :)
 
So who's actually managed to get one via the online reservation farce?

Luckily I'm in no great rush as this Galaxy S3 is still working despite the chunk of glass I took out of it by throwing it across the car park! Still, I'd like to get an iPhone before Christmas!

I wouldn't mind if I didn't know for a fact that the local store has handsets in stock, but will only sell on contract. Considering they're the same devices, it's a bit irritating.
 
It seems intermittent. They keep deactivating it and then reactivating it again.

I'm kind of annoyed about this, I used this reservation system about 10 days ago thinking it would email me a phone was available to collect - now I read I have to register every single day to get a phone! :rolleyes:

I guess it is due to phone supply. No point in having reservations if no phones are available.

Secondly, the reservation resets every night because then it would become a que system like the online store is.

It is a good (if annoying) system....
 
Yeah, I guess I just misunderstood how the system worked thinking it was a que system and they'd notify me when stock was available.

I suppose it makes more sense in the way they can guarantee to get the stock out the door quickly once it arrives instead of having loads of phones on standby waiting for people to come and collect them.
 
Just do the smart thing. Buy it from Apple Online store & keep reserving that way you know you will get it at-least within 3-4 weeks. I didn't get mine through reservation mine came through the post.
