iPhone 5 Tariffs

Can someone please tell me what happens after the 24 month o2 contract is complete?

Do you get a free (or subsidised) upgrade to an alternative phone??

cant dcide on which network to get iphone 5 on.

three £34 a month + £79

orange £36 a month + £109

orange get 4g first but i thought 3 had better 3g coverage.

Can anyone on t-mobile just check to see if they can access the network setting where you can enter APN details, passwords etc?

I previously had a sim free iPhone 4 and an o2 rolling sim, updated to ios6, and i could access these settings.

I've now got a sim free iphone 5 and went for a t-mobile rolling nano sim, and now this option seems to have dissapeared from my settings?

Not sure on an iPhone 5, but a colleague recently got a 4S upgraded to iOS6. She's on Virgin, cut the SIM down to fit, and the carrier shows up as Orange or T-Mobile in the Settings. There were no APN settings anywhere and Virgin couldn't give useful advice on how to get the 3G data working.
There's a thread in the Mobiles section on how to fix this, you essentially navigate to a website with APN settings for a whole range of countries and networks. We did this and downloaded and installed the Virgin APN settings in a few seconds (over WiFi) and it was working absolutely fine within seconds.

Honestly, provided that Three offer good coverage in areas that you frequent, I'd not bother going with Orange/LTE. You'll pay more for an unnecessarily fast data speeds without unlimited data, and if you travel a lot, you may find yourself without coverage a lot of the time (essentially meaning you're paying for a non-existent service). Three's data speeds are still overkill in good signal areas, and you get unlimited data.

Only thing to be wary of is Three's apparently poor customer service. Luckily if you own an iPhone this isn't too bad as Apple are the ones you deal with when you have problems with your handset, but with other matters, you might want to be wary. This said, many OcUK forum members don't seem to have any issues with Three whatsoever.

Out of interest are Orange doing 25% off for NHS workers for I phone 5 tariffs ?

If you go via NHSdiscounts.com, the tariffs are not much different to on Orange website. With a decent NHS discount, I would have been tempted to go with it. These are the prices showing on NHS discounts for the 16gb iphone 5

I'm pretty tight when it comes to mobile phones, but some of the prices quoted on this thread are mind boggling!

It shows the monthly contract being £36, the saving looks like its on the handset cost going via nhsdsiscounts.com. The orange Perk provides 25% off the line rental which is quite a lot. However I don;t believe Orange are offering the Perk discount on the iPhone 4s /5

I found out that Dixons have a staff offer with O2 currently. 30% off line rental on any handset. Means I can get the £36pm contract, pay £100 for the phone but the line rental goes down to £27ish

Win :D

if you bought an iphone5 with the 3 sim can you use it in another phone (4s) ? as i want to go back to my jailbroken 4s since I dont see a massive move from the 4s so can give the 5 to my sister or will 3 "know" its not being used in the iphone 5?
