iPhone 5 Tariffs

Did you come from O2?

Still pondering whether to change. Three can be a bit patchy with calls down here in hilly Cornwall so bit wary to change.

Switched when I got the 4S.

I have the ultimate 600 plan. It's great :)

Could somebody clear something up for me. My partners sister took out a 24month contract on a 4s last january from o2 at around £36 p/month.

Is she entitled to upgrade come January on the terms of signing another 18/24month contract, and if so, keep her iPhone 4s as well as getting a new phone?

I'm going to purchase a 32GB model. Decided to go back to the iPhone after a whole month away from it...

So my choices are:
  • giffgaff - (£12x24) + £599 = £887
  • Three, SIM only - (£12.90x24) + £599 = £908.60
  • Three, The One Plan with Quidco discount - (£39x24) + £89 - £101 = £924

I have no idea what to do! Three appear to have a fantastic network, however their coverage map suggests I will get poor signal where I live (outdoor only, meaning, probably terrible). Ideally I don't want to go on a contract, due to the risk. At the same time, the deal that Three offers as a whole, especially with The One Plan, is extremely appealing.

It seems that the best compromise might be Three's SIM only deal. My question is, is Three's network really that fantastic? Any information that can advise on the speed differences between O2 and Three in the Bristol area would be greatly appreciated :)

Surely the answer is obvious! What use is a smartphone with no signal..

At the moment I got the iphone 5 on O2, got it on the 21st from carphone warehouse and has a 7 day cool off period, they said I could just return everything and get a full refund and cancel the contract if I wasnt happy. If I wanted to say change to t mobile for a contract could I just pop in store and explain this, keep the iphone 5 I have on o2 and they just change the network and contract over to t mobile? Thus not having to hand the phone back over and go elsewhere....

Picked up an iPhone5 this Am and a Three Sim. Took about 3 hours for the sim to become active but I've not got any data connection, any idea how long this takes to kick in or do I have a problem?

Make sure the data plan is an iPhone one. I had to phone up and switch mine over coming from my galaxy nexus.

But the issue is it suggests, but doesn't necessarily mean that it will.

Decided to go a different route though. 12 month contract for £9.90 with unlimited Internet, and a SIM free iPhone 5 :)

Ive moved to 3 when I got first got the iPhone 4 and never looked back..

also the Three coverage map on the site says I have poor indoor signal at my house but i get 4+ bars in every room and full signal in my bedroom.

Please enlighten me , who's doing that ?
Three are, £6.90 12 month contract with £3.00 for unlimited Internet.

This is my view on it, it is likely that it will be better considering that my surrounding area is completely fine. Either way, switching just because I want to try.

Going to have to cancel my Three 1-month rolling plan after only taking it out last week, coverage seems to be awful both where I live and work, making it useless. If I put a cut-down GiffGaff (o2) sim into my iPhone 5 it's much better, and 3G is faster too.

Also I get a lot of no service errors, which I hear is because Three don't have a fallback band from 3G like other networks? So if you lose the 3G signal you don't get anything at all?

Ah, you need to call them up to get them to add it to your account. There are some cashback offers floating about at minute too, though I'm unsure whether they are genuine or not.

No wonder :p

Na i'll be getting the 1 month rolling contract. Don't wana tie my self in just yet.
Wanna see if the signal/coverage is good. Half of my mates are with Three and they praise Three coverage.

Exactly what I'm doing. Good, I'll move to a 12 month contract (need the unlimited Internet so that'll save me £3 a month, or more importantly, outdo giffgaff massively). Bad, I'll move back to giffgaff (who are the second cheapest anyway).

What do you think I should do.... Can't upgrade until Jan I'm paying £62 a month before boltons and O2 wont budge on buy out price even though I'm looking to upgrade through them... They are wanting £375 just to buy me out of the contract... Is it worth starting up a contact with another company? What will work out cheaper? I have a 64GB 4S so can sell that.

Can anyone on t-mobile just check to see if they can access the network setting where you can enter APN details, passwords etc?

I previously had a sim free iPhone 4 and an o2 rolling sim, updated to ios6, and i could access these settings.

I've now got a sim free iphone 5 and went for a t-mobile rolling nano sim, and now this option seems to have dissapeared from my settings?

That's terrible Orange allow customers to buy out with a 25% discount as long as you upgrade thought them. I bought out at month 11 of 24 and they offered me £300 for my 16gb 4s and I plus £10pm off my £36 plan for loyalty.
