iPhone 6+ bendgate issue.

Didn't take Samsung long :p

You don't seriously believe that's real do you?

I have a habbit of placing my iphones in my back pocket, I normally notice after a changed gears in the car a few times then I try to fish it out when at the traffic lights, but if I did I have bent iphone I know I was the one to blame.

The number of sunglasses I've sat on and broke due to my habbit of hanging sunglasses off my back pocket...

daily mash - everything bends...

If it is, I wouldn't be surprised. Samsung's PR team spend more time mocking the opposition than listing the virtues of their own devices.

Luckily, I'm no hipster, so the "bending" issue is unlikely to affect me and my non-skin tight pockets :p

Of course I have no sympathy with idiots who sit on their phones and then moan they've bent :p

Perhaps if people were forced to actually pay up front for their phones they'd understand how much they cost and would take better care of them. As it is we seem to have no end of muppets who genuinely believe that smartphones are free and they're actually paying £50 a month for two years just for the airtime

Totally agree with you. Both Samsung and Microsoft's entire phone/tablet marketing strategy is based around trying to rubbish Apple products. It's sad and pathetic really.

That said, I doubt their legal team would allow them to put out something like that until more facts have been established, if at all.

I don't know, but it's on plenty of tech news sites

Hmm, interesting. I'd still be astonished if it was the product of Samsung itself though.

Much as I like Apple products (have an iPhone and iPad) and genuinely despise Samsung and their business practices and marketing strategies, I'm no fan-boy. Apple could well have an issue on their hands with this and, if it turns out the Plus is deforming too easily then they need to be held accountable.

Apple have made a total pig's ear of the last week or so. Foisting a U2 album on people without their consent, farcical live stream of the keynote, iOS 8 missing the Healthkit apps and full of little bugs (I downgraded my iPad!), a quick 8.0.1 update pulled after an hour due to major issues. They're doing little to dispel the perception that they're not the same since Steve went and need to get their act together.

I've been poised for the last few days on pulling the trigger on an iPhone 6 Plus. This has genuinely made me think again because although I never put my phone in my back pocket, I do keep it in my front pocket and my super trendy 501s are pretty snug fitting.

I seem to remember reading similar about the iPhone 5 when it was first released but perhaps not on this scale and I've had no problems with the older phone.

However I'll be waiting for any words from Apple regarding it before I make a final decision.

If Steve Jobs were still alive, I'd imagine heads would be rolling in Cupertino now after the events of the last couple of weeks.

Get the 6?

Apart from a stuck pixel I love mine. I dont know the extent of the bending issue with the regular 6, but it seems very solid.

Apple is the worst performing share on the nasdaq 100 this morning in the USA because of bendgate and apparently they also have slipgate across the pond.

not to mention the botched 8.0.1 ios update the blocked calling for some users and has now been withdrawn.

i'm sure i heard on the news this morning that apple said they would replace bent 6+ phones. just been on the news website but it's not been updated yet. typical bbc.

Slipgate?

A female correspondent on cnbc has dropped and smashed 2 new ip 6's in 2 days because it is "so slippy and hard to hold", aapl is down 2% in a couple of hours.

edit to add half hour later aapl down 3.2%!!

I don't think it'll be ignored but I can imagine Steve Jobs going on a major rampage which is something I can't really picture Tim Cook doing.

It's always ignored or you get a free case to solve it. Which isn't really a solution. Far to much form over function. Too thin so it breaks, need to make it look nice, so silly glass back etc.
