iPhone 6+ bendgate issue.

It's more funny to see people blindly defending such a manufacturing flaw :D

One could argue that it's funny that people are blaming Apple even with such a small amount of problem phones... Every company ever has had some returns of every product, let's see how many get returned for that after a couple a weeks/a month, rather than a few days
.

The number is irrelevant. The important bit from that quote is at the bottom; they'll replace any bent iPhones under warranty.

That's great news for anyone with a bent iPhone, or anyone worried. Widespread or not doesn't really matter now, insofar as there's nothing to worry about. Whether or not it's an inherent flaw, Apple will replace the phone in the event it gets bent.

Assuming that's true, and only 9 people have complained about the bending, that's a very small number considering the amount of sales. Insignificant, almost.

Full statement (updated):

Seeing as there's several people in this thread alone with bent phone, 9 isn't true, or they used a number 12hrs after released, or people haven't reported it yet.

Exactly, and we're still in the stage of people treating their new device like a new born baby. A few weeks of normal use will be very interesting to see.

I don't expect people to subject it to the forces seen in the videos, buts it's obvious looking at some other videos that it is very susceptible to bending with even light pressure, which over time will permanently bend the phone in everyday use... It could also stress the internal components.

I didn't buy it purely because of its thinness. That is a neat design feature of the product though for sure (although it's caused the phone to apparently bend more easily than others). Sticking a case on it barely alters this by any noticeable measurement. It is still very thin with the case on. The Apple leather case that is. Can't vouch for any others.

Depends on the case but it's a subject I think most people have made their mind up on, in other words you're not going to convince someone who dislikes cases and vice versa.

A free case is ultimately a band aid solution, not especially a great solution but might do the job for most people as it did on the iPhone 4.

Apple might just do it as a gesture to iPhone 6+ owners. You never know.

Not while they're claiming only 9 people have complained and the Apple apologists are doing their best to blame the user or claim it's a non-issue.

You have a short memory or you're just an Apple apologist, or was Apple being helpful when they said you're holding it wrong?

Don't argue with him... Pretty clear he's a lost cause given his bizzaire Samsung hatred and apple can do no wrong viewpoint.

That being said it does sound like a bit of a storm in a teacup unless the almighty apple are lying about the 9 people its effected.

I prefer the 50cal one.

Jeez, how to make a 10 second clip into a three minute video.

"Welcome to the blablahblah
Today we're going to blahblahblah
Using a blahblahblah
With our shooter Mr blahblahblah
Why don't you tell us what went through your mind preparing for blahblahblah...

<after 10 second clip>

oh wow I really thought blahblahblah
be sure to subscribe blahblahblah
next week we'll be blahblahblah
with special guest blahlblahblah
I'll be giving away blahblahblah"

They could be telling the truth, it might have been only 9 people this morning or some other twist of the wording but we know that more people have actually noticed a problem as we've got nearly that many on the forum.

You could be right and ultimately it's not a big deal but there's something immensely distasteful about the way it's been handled.

So you know that video, the one with the bending? Cries of fake now abound. Does look a little dodgy, check at 1.39 on the video phone says 2:26PM yet later in the vid at 2.46 it says 1:59PM? The bit I'm really suspicious of is, if you look at the video in 4k res you can see a what looks a lot like a fracture line above the switches. This is before he's bent it, indicating it's been bent at least once before and straightened. Explaining why it bent so easily on the overhead shots.

Not that these don't have a problem. Watch this one, does seem quite easy to bend.

Had mine naked for a week now. No bend, all good.

Been in front pockets as I don't ever put stuff in my back ones - I'm not a porker but I wouldn't sit on my sunglasses, so I'm not going to sit on something many times their price either.

Woah that was brutal, the initial bend looks like it takes barely any force at all. I wish people stop mentioning "I wouldn't sit on my phone" barely any of the reports have been from people sitting on their phones. This is happening in front pockets.
