I like my 5S which is my personal phone, but recently we changed all our work phones to Blackberry Z30s.

Ignoring the phone itself (a little slow, clunky OS but a few good ideas in there) the screen size is good but just a little big for me with slightly smaller than average hands. Apple could be on to a winner with 4.7 if the rumours are true. I still slightly regret moving from a 5 to a 5S - even though I like it the cost to upgrade didn't seem worth it. However, some extra screen real estate could be just what I'm looking for having experienced what a 5" screen is like to live with.

No bigger though for me - I'd struggle to hold and use it.

I have a Nexus 5 which is slightly smaller then the Z30 and for me its the ideal size, I'm not very tall at 5"8~ and my hands are normal sized and I fit in in 1 hand without a problem. iPhone 6 leaks look to be as tall as the Nexus 5 and narrower so it should be fine in 1 hand.

Not sure how I feel about this form factor, if it does indeed turn out to be accurate:

^ So that'll be a roughly 5inch display, not too bad. I like the look of it.

My contract is up in September (got the 5 on release day) so I'll probably go for this

Really hoping they don't go any thinner, they have nothing to gain and everything to lose, just seems like something to boast about on a slide during the presentation. They could keep it the same thickness and increase battery life and camera optics.

Depends what you deem heavy, I think outside of a Note sized device there isn't anything on the market right now that would last a full day of heavy usage, let alone the 5s which I manage to kill off in a work day (6 hours of web browser testing).

I haven't managed to run my Moto G flat in a day yet. Usually about 35% left. I could flatten my Samsung S3 in an 8 hour shift

My point is you could if you wanted too, I use to have a lot of phones for testing my web sites on and none of them could last 6-8 hours of running a web browsers, even if benchmarks claimed they could do 11hours. This excludes the Note3. My point being heavy usage varies and almost all device can go flat in a few hours.

Stay on point I was at the apple store this weekend getting an iPod touch for my kid cousin and I must say I really like the design. I could see the next iPhone having a similar design, the space grey iPod touch is much closer too the iPad Air/Mini design, including things like the volume rocker. Think it looks better then the iPhone 5/5s design.

I use my 5 as my main work phone and when it's busy I can barely make it til after lunch if I'm sending/receiving multiple calls in conjunction with exchanging dozens of text messages an hour, maybe 6 hours of use. I use texts instead of email to communicate with my customers 95% of the time so my screen turns on and off constantly.

In the end I had to buy a 2m lighting cable from China and leave that plugged it into a another 1m cable usb extention cable the snakes around my desk to the back of my desktop so I can talk on the phone while working and maintaining mobility around the office during a call.

When I visit London I have to really watch my Google maps and Citymapper and WhatsApp use otherwise again, it'll be dead by late afternoon.

I'm surprised there's no half decent high end smart phones with killer battery life as a major selling point. I wait in anticipation that the 6 may rectify this, however I fear if the engineering drawings are accurate it will simply be a bullet point on a slide, or maybe at a stretch a slide entirely to itself proclaiming how great new battery is being a whole 10% better, even though it's thinner....whoop de doo, give me at least 50%+ improved battery life then I'll consider whooping, cheering and clapping like a good enthusiastic Apple fan while watching the keynote, on my computer, alone, in the dark, maybe with some chips, dip and a few beers...can't wait.

Ever heard of a Bluetooth headset? :p

You're right though, the market is definitely ripe for a long battery life smartphone. You'd think with all the hype around the Note 2 battery life it would be exactly that... nope 5 hours screen time is the max.

Probably because it would cut into their profits :D

The renders look a bit meh soo far. Expecting a far more fresh design.

It isn't that people are not trying, the technology is simply not there.
Most advances in battery life have come from more efficient power usage of components/software but there is a limit. To get any major increase in battery we need a breakthrough in the technology. When it's cracked it will probably be one of the most important discoveries in technology.

Apple doesn't need a 6mm phones, there clearly prioritising a thinner device over battery life.
