I just printed this out myself.

I have to say I am quite shocked just how big the 6+ is! :eek:

Can't say I would want a phone that big, out of the two the 6 is the only option for me. The 6+ would just not be practical for me. It would be sticking out of my jeans! lol

Gonna have to see what the 6 is like in the flesh to tempt me from my 5S (which I think is a great phone)

Smartphones try to do to many jobs and so most of what they do is a flawed compromise.

My point has already been made above. In this day and age home video is simply that, candid clips. Why do I need the hassle of a separate device that I've got to carry around with extra batteries, storage, etc, not to mention I then have to pull the video off and mess around with it to make it usable. With a smartphone you can get ~80-90% of the capability for no extra cost

Don't the Lumia, Xperia and Galaxy ranges take just as good photos as the 5S, if not better? So I feel like the 6 will still be fairly comparable and so this sticky out lens just looks to be a case of bad design.

It appears to have something to do with the way the camera focuses; similar to an old rangefinder camera.

We'll find out what, if any, effect this has on the quality of the pictures soon enough. It might just speed up the focus times.
 
To be honest i have sacked off my digital cameras in the past yew years for my iphone 5 on nights out and holidays. It takes perfectly fine group and holiday photos on nights out. I still take my waterproof shockproof camera skiing though - having said that last year i took a 'fake gopro' (can't justify a gopro for 1 skitrip a year. £60 is fine imo)

Yup you're quite right - you need to be prepared to tinker around to get the best out of android and if that doesn't float your boat iOS is indeed a far more satisfying option.

Pixel count doesn't equal sensor size, you can have a larger sensor with the same pixel count. It depends on whether they improved the optics but chose sacrafice the size in order to do so etc.

You can't beat size when it comes to lenses, it's no coincidence that some of my best lenses weights the most.

The apple store are taking pre orders for people to buy it sim only, buying the phone outright for £600 or whatever.

I think you can do some contracts in store at the apple store, but most people won't as you won't get the best deal and they can't do upgrades - only new contracts.

Most people will be upgrading and thus have to go to the O2 / EE / Vodafone store. No word yet on when they will take orders.

I didn't say pixel count I said size, the pixels are not larger which implies the sensor is also the same size. If your sensor size increases with the same pixel count it means each individual pixel is bigger, and there still 1.5µm.

The camera does have a faster shutter so it will take 50% of the time to get the same light which should make it faster/better depending on the situation.

I thinking going 20mp like the lumia devices is a tad silly, even my DSLR doesn't have 20mp. I'm not 100% sure but I think 8mp camera means they won't be able to do 4k video but its meh.

Indeed it is the Z-index they need to stack a lot of things there, its why Apple puts the camera right at the top so it's not behind the display like most Android/WP devices.
 
I'm still yet to understand the difference between an upgrade and taking out a new contract.... I just wait for my contract to end and then get a new one online with a new phone.
