Heh.

Having slept on it, the 6+ is still too big for me. The dimensions of the 6 are pretty much bang on those of my work phone - Blackberry Z10 (hateful device) - and that's as large as I can comfortably go. So I think it'll be a 6 64 gb for me, in gold - same as my 5S.

The Z10 is only 4.2" with the Z30 being 5"
I fail to see how you hate this device, I've been loving it since last year. But lets not start a war. Just wanted to point out how the 6 will still be bigger than your Z10

The apple store are taking pre orders for people to buy it sim only, buying the phone outright for £600 or whatever.

I think you can do some contracts in store at the apple store, but most people won't as you won't get the best deal and they can't do upgrades - only new contracts.

Most people will be upgrading and thus have to go to the O2 / EE / Vodafone store. No word yet on when they will take orders.

EE have said at 8am.

http://ee.co.uk/our-company/newsroom/2014/09/09/iphone-6-and-iphone-6-plus

EE today announced it will offer iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the biggest advancements in iPhone history.

Pre-order will commence at 08:01am on 12th September ahead of launch at 08:00am on the 19th September.

Customers may pre-register interest today at ee.co.uk/iphone. For more information on iPhone, please visit: www.apple.com/iphone.

They do do upgrades. Went into an Apple store 2 years ago the day after the iPhone 5 launched with my wife who wanted to upgrade her o2 contract and they actually did the upgrade there and then.

Cool, I plan on buying outright but it would be nice to see if there any contracts that can compete affordability wise, unlikely I know but worth a try.

I'm just going to go sim free, I'm pretty sure you won't find anything below £40 and if you need a decent amount of 4g (I do) its going to be close to £60 I predict. I'm due an upgrade on vodafone so I'm just trying to get a decent Sim only deal and then just buy the phone out right.

Hi guys,

Can I get your thoughts on a few questions please?

1. I have a iphone 5 which is unblocked and in good condition - could you please give me a rough idea how much I could sell it for?

2. I am looking to buy the iPhone 6 straight up SIM FREE. I currently have a SIM card with THREE, would it just be the case of slotting this SIM in to the iPhone 6? Please note this is not a contract, just a SIM which I can cancel at any time and pay £15 a month for unlimited everything.

3. I just logged in to my cloud and it doesn't even have half of the contacts that I have on my phone. Could someone please tell me why? Do i need to back it up again? Am I right in saying I can do that via my phone?

4. When I input my SIM into the new iPhone 6, will I still have all my contacts and photos?

Thanks so much in advance guys.

Sorry - I meant Z30. But I still utterly hate the device.

1). You'd get £168 from o2 Recycle which isn't too bad. I imagine you'd probably be able to get a bit more if you sold it elsewhere though but I'd say that's a rough ballpark figure.

2). Yes, just put the SIM in.

3). Yes check your iCloud settings. Settings -> iCloud -> Backup and you should be able to view when the last backup was completed and kick off another one, as well as toggle individual backup options for photos, contacts etc.

4). No as they're not stored on the SIM. However if you restore an iCloud backup then it'll all be there.

Which do you think will have the cheapest TCO over 24 months:

£699 iPhone 6+ 64GB + £18/m sim-only deal (£1,131)

OR

24 month contract + phone with either Three or EE.

Would like 1GB data (including tethering) and 1k minutes as a minimum.

It has always worked out cheaper to buy the phone outright and add a sim only deal, but then you need to cash up front to do that. Although the difference between the two has been decreasing

When it was Orange 2 years ago I did it all online including the ordering. But I was a new customer to them then so I'm not sure if it'll be a similar process. I'd imagine so.

If you pre order online, can you then go into an Apple store and pick the phone up on the release day or does it have to be posted to you?

Posted to you but you get it that day so easier then queuing up with some muppets and getting applauded walking into the apple store lol.

Sim only deals and buying the phone outright normally works out cheaper.
