I've got a works iPad 16gb, no music, no videos and maybe a hundred images, 2gb free space left. If I took a longish video now I'd be getting quite close to the limit, if it was an iPhone and I installed a satnav it'd be full

Yeah, that's a fair point. When I bought my iPhone 4 the OS was more compact and apps were in their infancy. I had loads of room for my music and all was good. Over the years I've had to prune the music back a bit to fit CoPilot etc on there. Things will be even tighter with the newer 64-bit iPhones with 8MP cameras I expect.

Ya, I was hoping for 32GB base model, genius move by Apple pushed me and presumably lots of others to the 64.

Just received my spigen tough armour case for the 6, after seeing how big the case is I'm SO glad I never went for the plus!

I felt the same after using that "actual size" website posted above, the 6 is already a big jump from the 4/4S.

All those previously buying the 32GB iPhone 5S HAD to pay for extra storage. It's no different this time around... If anything it's cheaper to get the "middle" model and you get double the storage.

I suppose it sucks if you expected 32GB as a minimum, but they've clearly done this because they know it would limit the amount of up-selling. In other words more people would see 32GB and stick with that.

Maybe the 16GB is still there because there is a market for people who use the iPhone as an iPhone and have another device for their media, or maybe a market that stream a lot of content. I don't really know.

I filled my 32GB 5s about three quarters so was always going for more space.

16GB iPhones and iPads have always been fine for me, I don't store media on the devices apart from the odd picture or video I take, and the apps I use don't tend to require much storage. All my video stuff is streaming, and I don't listen to music at all.

Don't think I've ever gone below having at least 4-5GB free.

I still don't understand the lack of 32gb

They upgraded it to 64GB.

Apple do a good, better, best pricing strategy. They wouldn't offer 4 models for each size.

But that doesn't make logical sense, the smallest size should then be increased to 32GB, but that wouldn't make Apple as much money  Offering an 8GB 5C now as the basic model is madness, who would 8GB be enough for?!

My wife...

She just wants a phone that will go on-line as and when needed, text, make phone calls, looks nice/fashionable and most importantly does not cost £600.

She doesn't play mobile games, doesn't need to carry around her entire music collection or use even 500mb of data per month. Pink 8GB iPhone 5C sounds perfect.

Shame the iPhone 5C contracts are still silly money so she is happy to use my old iPhone 4 and pay £10 per month for service.

I think a big part of the base model staying 16gb is maximising the profit margin on the device that businesses buy for corporate devices via the MNOs.

Just played with a workmate's Note 3. The Plus is around the same width but a touch taller. Surprisingly, I didn't have any problems with it, even though he'd replaced the back cover with a cover/larger capacity battery which made it a fair bit thicker - could operate some stuff one-handed etc. Looks like it's the 6 that's getting sold on.

Anyone actually had a dispatch email yet from Apple? I'm sure when I got my iP5 it was on its way from China by now, then ended up in the Netherlands :p

More and more people saying the 6+ is a good size.
I based everything simply on that website that shows the sizes.
Might need to make my way to a store to check it out before I use my 6.

Payment has been taken for mine but it is still showing as Preparing for Dispatch. Hopefully soon it will change to despatched.

Who do Apple normally use for deliver is it UPS?

For some reason it looks like CPW have more iPhone 6 and 6+s in now, yesterday pretty sure they had none. Wonder if its re-directed stock from phones4u? Or did i just imagine it lol
