Well the 6+ is a Note4 sized device (slightly larger actually) which is a pretty niche market compared to the more reasonably sized phones like the normal 6. I don't really understand your point.

Where did you get that from? The iPhone 6+ is very tall for a 5.5" device, taller than the Note 4, but it's not as wide and a good bit thinner. Total device volume is 87.33cm^3 vs 102.55cm^3, so a significant amount smaller. That ties in nicely with the hands-on reports saying it doesn't feel that big for the screen size - thickness and width have a big effect on how a device feels in the hand.

Iphone 6 Plus dimensions 158.1 × 77.8 × 7.1 mm
Note 4 dimensions 153.5 × 78.6 × 8.5 mm

You are completely overstating the effects of a thinner device by far the most important factor is the front face real estate. The iphone is a whopping 4.6mm taller then the Note 4 and only 0.8mm narrower. It's very clear the iphone is a phablet sized device. It will feel larger then the Note 4 in actual use.

what a dilema! for my part i have had my iphone 5 for 2 years and given it to the GF
from an upgrade point of view i have always wanted a slightly bigger screen

but do i want an iphone 6?

im not going to sign for another 24 months for a phone that i might not like, but dont really want to pay £619 for the 64GB version coz lets face it no ones really sure how much room IOS 8 is gunna take up and i prob have enough music to go just over 16Gb with the IOS and over apps etc,

thanks apple you really know how to look after your customer base:mad:

Maybe. Maybe not. Time will tell. It's splitting hairs though really. Point is, it isn't larger than the Note 4 - we don't have a Lumia 1520 or Xperia Z Ultra sized monster here; just something the size of a regular Phablet.

It is larger then the Note 4 by most peoples definition. Who cares if it's 1mm thinner, the front has a larger surface area by ~300mm^2. I don't even know why you are arguing semantics with me, I said it's in the Note4 size region of devices (aka a phablet) and you called me out on it but I was clearly correct...

I've not watched the keynote, so are we saying that all the YouTube's about the new 6 having a completely scratch resistant sapphire glass is false ? Not seen them add that to the spec.

If only there was a way to try a device out to see if you're happy with the size of it before you were to commit to buying it. Maybe some sort of retail presence - we could call it a store. Run by Apple.

I'm not sure how you expected them to "look after their customer base" in a way that's compatible with you not being unjustifiably angry. Just buy a 5S if you don't want a bigger phone, that's what I'm going to do when my 5 gives up.

Quite disappointed with the screen resolution of 1334 by 750. Despite the retina branding, I find small text far easier to read on 1920x1080 android devices than I do on my iPhone 5. A shame, because I quite like iOS but don't want to upgrade to the 5.5 inch 6+

i just meant from a stand point of pre ordering when they become available as aposed to queling up to be ceremoniously clapped into the store to make my purchase:D but i guess you prob live for that moment everytime one is released

also when i said about cusotmer base i was refering to them taking out the 32GB option and leaving just 16Gb or straight up to 64Gb definitely smacks of forcing those that hold a fair bit on our iphones to pay the extra for the 64Gb one

The Watch (bar the Sport version) is sapphire glass, the only sapphire on the iPhones is on the rear camera. The front glass, (like the Watch Sport) is 'ion strengthened' this time round.

A 32GB would have been perfect for me, but the price difference between the 16GB and 64GB isn't as much as I was expecting to be honest! Might just go for the 64GB after all. 16GB is definitely not enough as I use Spotify a lot and keep my music offline.

I would love to preorder on Friday, but it would still be nice to see the 6 Plus in my hands to judge whether I could manage with it as my everyday device.

i'd like the 6 more if it wasn't heavier than my current 5S. It was my fav thing about going to a 5 from a 4S, the shaving off a bit of weight.

Men have to carry their phones in their pockets. That extra weight is a pain !

Quite a few people said the 5S felt cheaper because it was so light and didn't feel as premium. :p

I'm due an upgrade with Vodafone in the next couple of weeks according to the Vodafone app (currently have an iPhone 5), but I'm not staying with them due to their crap 3G coverage in this area. That means waiting until early November at which point I'll be moving to 3, so an iPhone 6 (not the 6+) 16GB or 32GB will do me fine ...

We have pants mobile data compared to the US.

we really dont

maybe LA/new york and a few other big cities but half of america has awful awful 'cell' reception

both people you quote mention the tube. data networks and wifi are coming to the tube in the not so distant future. i imagine american 'metros' have the exact same problems. they also mention countryside , they have that problem too , on a larger scale

our data is a lot cheaper too !
