It's dependant on so many variables it's almost pointless to compare.

The 6s looks good and I'll be tempted to move away from Android for the first time (Nexus 5).

I currently have a iPhone 4S (after previously owning an iPhone 3G) and I decided to switch to a 2013 Nexus 5 for now to try out Android for the first time (on a phone) as I was a little bit underwhelmed by what the 6S was offering.

Will give it a shot for a few months and see how I get on!

I thought the effect of RAM on battery life was negligible?

It's not that there's an issue. It's all about expectations. You can get £100 phones with 400dpi screens these days. Apple are offering a premium product and for the price, consumers are going to start to want something more for their money.

Don't you already get more? You get iOS rather than Android for instance.

The link above also suggests 2GB RAM.

Moved from a 1080p Android phone to an iPhone 6 and I if anything, the display looks better. More pixels don't mean a better screen, but they do mean a bigger hit on the battery.

Not just pixels no, but LCD is old hat now. I'll always lean towards oled screens when choosing my next phone.

I feel the oled screen on my s6 is a cut above any LCD screen.

It's a watch, not a phone.

Huawei were the first to bring the feature to mobile phones.

I still think it's a gimmick though, only reason Apple need it is because they try to do everything with one button.

What a magnificent innovation from Huawei! Taking something that was on heavily-publicised smart watch and announcing it on a phone! And the version of the handset with Force Touch doesn't even have a release date yet.

The iPad pro was confirmed to have 4gb of ram by Adobe in a blog post, which has now been edited to remove it. Could be a good sign for the phones if true!

The main reason the iPad Air 2, iPad Pro etc have more RAM is to drive the large high res display. They don't have dedicated VRAM like a PC with a gaming graphics card...

Pretty sure keeping 32 apps and 73 Safari tabs open at the same time wasn't the primary reason!

You really are the worlds biggest fanboy.

iPad Pro is for the pro apps, you can't expect to transcode 3x 4K videos on 1GB of Ram, or do heavy photoshop work. It also for side by side apps, and is why its limited too those 2 models. Ontop of needing more vram.

For me its not even about 32apps, I can't download a Spotify Playlist without spotify being purged from Ram, thats just a bad experience flat out for me that I have to keep unlocking my phone and clicking on the app, or not being able to reply to a text message with it being removed from memory.

If you're paying for a service and the current top end handset won't run the app they provide properly then take it up with Spotify. All iPhone 6 are created equal.

I'm not sure who'd want to edit 4K video on a iPad anyway!

Hey fellas,

I have a question:

I currently have a Note 4. It's in great condition. Unfortunately it's an N910U model, which won't mean much to a casual user but to me it's very annoying since it's Exynos and supports no roms, but more importantly, the official updates are ABYSMALLY slow on it. Additonally, I have a double size battery and it's still not got wonderful battery life.

I'm considering selling it and grabbing an iPhone (last one I had was the 4 which I did enjoy).

Horrendous decision? Good?

Nothing too do with Spotify, on the iPhone it is much more aggressive with Ram. For reference my iPad Air 2 I was able to download all my Spotify songs with it stopping once, while I was skipping between 3D games.

And I'm not sure either about the iPad Pro, but it was one of the things they demo'd and its something I don't think would work well on anything less then 4GB ram. No one really knows what the Pro will end up being used for but having 1/2GB ram would have limited it from a developer perspective.

I asked the question earlier in the thread but nobody was able to answer - I suspect it was buried in the excitement.

Does this mean that iMovie has been updated? It currently can't handle transcoding 3 separate video streams.

if they'd kept everything else the same, but doubled the battery life i'd have bought it.

but apparently we're now expecting worse battery life than the 6??

Battery life is reported the same, smaller battery but improvements on processor no doubt. 6 has great battery life easily lasts 6am to 9pm for me

What a magnificent innovation from Apple, taking the publicised live pictures that was announced on the Galaxy S4 and some high end Nokia Lumia's......

Companies nick ideas from companies, simple get off your fanboy high-horse!

Im after a new toy (my N5 battery and camera are just woeful) and am considering the new 6s, only thing putting me off is a smaller screen and how the battery life actually is, as it is smaller than my current phone.
