It's a worldwide launch, I see. Preorders go live at 12.01am Pacific Time.

Great, can't wait until their servers melt and we can't order.

Oh noes! You might have to wait a bit! I don't get this "need to buy on day one" crap....is it just so you can show off to people on the tube that don't give a ****? :p

No, I just want to make sure I get one as soon as possible and not have to wait weeks as my contract on my 5S ends this month :p and I hate London so definitely not showing off on the tube ;)

The link above also suggests 2GB RAM.

Can't believe apple have stuck with a low resolution LCD screen for so long.

The competitors eclipsed them long ago in this regard.

Moved from a 1080p Android phone to an iPhone 6 and I if anything, the display looks better. More pixels don't mean a better screen, but they do mean a bigger hit on the battery.

The 6's screen looks fantastic, don't see what the issue is? The Plus also looks fantastic, that's 400dpi and someone was complaining that wasn't enough earlier in this thread.

So this is basically the the iPhone 6/Plus rebooted with a new camera, new SoC and gimmicky force touch, does it at least have 2GB of memory?

I suppose it's good enough to keep things ticking over until iPhone 7.

I have a battered and bruised iPhone 5... thought I would hold out until the 7 but my camera has some imperfections in it now, and my battery life is struggling.

Given that I'm loving Force Touch on the Apple Watch, 3D touch is exactly what I wanted in the next version of the phone I purchase.

What do people expect from a new phone these days. People whinge that there hasn't been anything "wow" for a while but seriously, what do they want?

I think the stuff that apple has been doing has been about as cutting edge as its possible to be at the moment. I don't for a minute think that if Jobs was still heading apple that they would be churning out magical updates that blow our minds.

Apple make huge profits so you would expect them to come up with something special, they seem reluctant to spend their money on R&D and bring something really new to the table.

An Android phone was announced with force touch before the iPhone 6s so they can't claim to be first with that either.

This thread is lol worthy. All the crying about nothing new, apple don't invest in r&d, apple don't do this, didn't invent that.... I suspect Apple have more in r&d than most phone manufacturers put together.

It's a S release, it's not meant to reinvent the iPhone from scratch...

What we do have is a new OS, almost twice as fast, nicer cameras, 3d touch (which actually sounds amazing), taptic feedback, faster touch ID .....not bad for a 'refresh' model.

Am I gonna buy one, nope... I have a 6 and will await the 7.

Up until now the iPhone 6 from my point of view (a business user) was the best phone out there for 'getting the job done'.... now it's the 6S.

Apple know what they do well, and these days succeed at pretty much everything they do... hats off to them!
