iphone down to £169

I assume it's an Orange thing as it doesn't do that to me.. have you tried checking your mailbox options in your Orange voicemail?

Yes I already had. I have tried something new, switched on SMS voicemail alerts via Orange voicemail settings and then switched off the voicemail alert in iPhone settings.

Although, it has also stopped prompting me of new voicemail after either time (hours) or making a phone call. Haven't figured what yet.

Will ring myself today and do some testing.

EDIT- Well, the SMS alerts don't work. Some sort of limitation of the iPhone that stops it receiving SMS from short numbers?

My dads work phone used to promp him every 5 minutes when he had a voicemail with Vodafone, drove me ****ing mad when he left his phone at home and went out, so I don't think it's an iPhone issue.

Couple of questions:

1. When selecting a contact to call from your contact list. You press the contact, you get their details come up and then you have to yet again press on the telephone number.
Is there noway to get iPhone to dial the defaul number assigned to the contact?

2. Bluetooth reception. Has anyone found this to be a bit crappy? It could be my Bluetooth headset (O2 affair, could be cheapy).

Whenever I have the iPhone in my pocket using bluetooth to talk, I can always hear crackles and hisses.

If you set that, then you'd never be able to see the rest of the details for that contact or ring any of the alternative numbers... which would be a bit daft.

You can add a specific number to your favourites list. Anything you hit in your favourites rings the number you added straight away. It also adds the number type (mobile, home etc) after the name so you know what you're about to ring.

To be fair I did think that, but to be honest, I rarely go into contact details, so this is why I asked :) Oh well not a biggie.

Am doing so :)

Yea but I dont really like the standard ones, I liked the one I had on my sony ericsson, but its a protected one so I doubt there will be anyway to copy it over?

As long as it makes a noise, it's a ringtone. You don't need Dizzee Rascal to rap at you for a few minutes, chances are your caller will get bored. THEY don't get to listen to Dizzee Rascal.

I've had my iPhone around a month now, and after experimenting with different Apps etc, I've finally settled on a nice setup. I want to restore it to how it was when I first Jailbroke it, but I have a few questions:

1. How would I do this?
2. Will all my SMS, Pictures, etc be lost if I do this?

Any help appreciated. :)

Can't you just uninstall the apps you don't want? I don't think its like a PC where a format causes the computer to run faster :)

Thats what I thought, but while SSH'ing I saw that there were still folders left from Apps that I had uninstalled. Plus, I'm a little pedantic with things like this :p

Well in that case, copy them over to the Desktop, delete it on the iPhone and see if everything still works. If so move on until you've removed everything.

If everything is still working A-ok then you can delete the files off the Desktop :)

When you sync with iTunes it backs up SMS and lots of settings too. Even icon positions!

You could do a restore, then re-unlock/jailbreak then install the stuff you just want.

Brilliant, I was hoping this would be the case. How do I go about restoring the backed up settings then? Or will that process do it automatically?

EDIT:

Also, will my contacts still be there with assigned pictures etc? Or will I have to go through the whole process of sorting them out from scratch?
