iPhone Jailbreak 1.1.3 Released

"You need to have a 1.1.2 4.6 phone for this to work. If you upgraded to 1.1.3, have fun waiting for 1.1.4!"

http://iphonejtag.blogspot.com/2008/01/112-otb-unlocked.html

Kidloco, did you upgrade to apple 1.1.3 with a uk iphone? if so did you do the above hardware hack first? If not then you are stuck with 1.1.3

This is a bit of a crappy situation, even the offical unlocking site that charges for the links to software etc are telling 1.1.2 users they can upgrade to 1.1.3 in exactly the same way I did, think ill give them a call tomorrow, they must be getting flooded with calls.

I do have a UK iPhone, bought with 1.1.1, jailbroke, upgraded to 1.1.2, the with 1.1.3, just so anoying it was working right after the update, now I can download a thing, it doesnt even try and connect to wi-fi even when you go and connect via the network settings, it really is driving me bonkers.

even when they release 1.1.4 i wont be able to download the flaming thing!

Well I bought my iphone back in November and since then I have downloaded via itunes
1.1.2
1.1.3 (this year)

Only these last two days I have considered jailbreaking and I haven't had much sucess. I have however got my phone jailbroke and running apps on 1.1.2 downgraded from 1.1.3 and the installer app was installed on 1.1.3 but wouldn't install anything from the source, installer etc.
Neither time I have been sucessful to unlock my phone so it will read my sim so both times I was using a phoneless iPhone.

I have absorbed a lot of information in the last 48 hours and its thrown me a little but I guess the ultimate answer is that I cant do this due to me installing 1.1.3 when it was released at macworld 08.

I have downgraded my 1.1.3 to 1.1.1. and upgraded to 1.1.2 and back upto 1.1.3 but I have been unable to downgrade my modem firmware which I assume is also called baseband from 04.03.13_G (where my problem lies? unless I take my phone apart which isn't an option)

Thanks for your patience

You've hit it bang on the head.

1.1.3 firmware applies the modem firmware, which is currently non-downgrade-able via software.. it's hardware only :(

That is why the USA's AnySIM software wouldn't fully sim-unlock UK 1.1.2 iPhones (the baseband was different, and couldn't be downgraded)

Reboot your router.

Tried that, it will connect in the settings menu, but as so as you go out of the settings, the wi-fi logo dissapears, and when you try to surf or use YouTube you just get the error message, it doesnt even look for wi-fi at that point, very strange.

Iv tried resetting the router, resetting the iPhone network settings, even read somewhere that some Linksys routers need firmware updates but I checked and mine is bang up to date. I even connected it to the neighbours unsecured Netgear router, exactly the same, as soon as I exit the settings menu, it dissconnects.

Odd, I had a similar problem with my Touch when I changed my SSID, although the Wi-Fi logo wouldn't disappear it wouldn't connect to anything even though it was 'connected'.

In fact, it did that the first time I used it too. :o

Correct me if i'm wrong but you cannot hardware downgrade a 4.6 baseband phone that has been updated to apples 1.1.3.

The only way it works is if the phone had the 3.9 baseband otb, so what you have to do is downgrade the baseband while you are on 1.1.2 from 4.6 to 3.9 which the hardware hack can do and then upgrade to 1.1.3

To go go from a 1.1.3 phone that has an apple update you will need to wait for the 1.1.4 secpack?

Change the word baseband with bootloader for the above, i'm always mixing them up doh.

well after spending all frickin morning on it iv fixed it, after about 20 goes it finally took a restore to 1.1.1, then I jailbroke it and updated it to 1.1.2. Wi-fi is working again, so is safari. think ill stay clear of 1.1.3

Important lesson learned, dont rush in!

well iphoneunlockuk.com have just added this to there 1.1.2 to 1.1.3 update details.

We only recommend this procedure for 3.9 bootloader phones. If you have a 4.6 bootloader phone, DO NOT follow this procedure at the current time

Just downloaded BBinfo and sure enough I have bootloader 4.6, shame they didnt put this info up sooner.

To be honest you're probably right.

I'm on 1.1.3 official, with no issues :D

If I go down to the shops tommorrow to buy a iPhone what firmware am I likely to get. I'm in Northern Ireland. It's best to get a 1.1.2 for 1.1.3 jailbreaking yea?

Yep, if they only have 1.1.3 and you dont intend to use the proper O2 contract then walk away.

im sure there should be plenty of 1.1.2 phones around, loads on the bay.
