Iphone OS 3.0...

Hopefully indicates even further that the new iPhone is coming out. Brilliant timing for myself as my contract finishes around June. I just hope they start at 16GB and offer a 32GB respectively.
 
im still waiting to see if they announce anything like maybe a new gen iphone, dont wanna tie my self into an iphone contract when there may be a a new one round the corner!
 
I don't think they will increase the screen resolution on the next iPhone revision. One of the things that's been done right about their whole iPhone/iPod-Touch application platform is having the one and only one hardware/interface to target when developing.

Differing screen resolutions and hardware specifications were the nightmare in the bad old days of mobile development just a few years ago.

Good news. Was wobbling about getting a PAYG now but concerned re when a potential new one was coming out.

Will defo wait now :cool:

It won't have a 800 x 480 screen. That would break compatibility with a lot of existing apps. Their best option would be to double the screen resolution.

I'm hoping for:
- Background apps
- Better access to built-in apps for 3rd party developers
- A podcasting client that downloads podcasts automatically OTA
- No software update charge for iPod touch owners

Pah the Pre copied everything else off Apple.

I can't speak for others but I've never felt the need to have multiple apps open and I always thought that was one of the worst features of Wibdows Mobile.

Suppose some form of push notification would be good for IM style apps
 
One word ... Tethering

It looks like AT&T are aleady looking at reorganising their tariffs in the US for tethered data. It makes me think that they will still allow unlimited data on the iphone, but tethered data may have either an allowance or will have to be paid for. I believe this will be implemented through a special bluetooth dongle that allows the iphone to be used as a wireless modem.

I guess that 02 will probably follow suit in the UK. I believe that O2 are also about to announce that current 3g iphones are about to become free on £35 and £45 tariffs - stock clear down ? New model on the way ?

We will see
