Iphone OS 3.0...

I agree its not good at all, i would rather have it than none at all though :)

I wouldn't like the design to suffer for a better camera :D

I don't agree that you NEED a flash and unless its able to take point and shoot photos that a camera is useless. I use my 2MP Autofocus (w810i) to take pictures of ads, notices I want to remember and it can take a photo that prints decently at 6"x4". In good light a lot of phones, even the ones without autofocus like the iPhone can take a decent photo. I even use mine as a photocopier. I take a photo of the doc then print it from the PC. Works fine.

Explore Flickr and you'll find lots of great photos taken by phones.

and you can take a picture say in a trendy bar late at night of you and your mates partying?

I know I could when I have my SE k800i

IT needs a flash > period.

For me its a step backwards from a 3yr old phone with af/flash.

I'm going to download it later today. Cost a nice £59 from apple, but should be worth it. :)

Only if you're intending to develop for it! Otherwise you could have spoken to someone already on the development program and had them authorize your phone for testing - and that's free.

Paying £59 just to use beta software alone is bonkers!

Sorry havent been through this thread but i have a question, i got my iphone september whats the likelyhood for being able to upgrade to the iphone and being tied to a new 18 month contract?

If i can't i just give my handset back and buy the new one as i have the top insurance package i can just end my contact though it would mean losing my phone and number :(

I'll be using that developer licence at some point or another. I'm going back to Uni in October to continue my degree in Software Engineering. So going to code as much as I can to get back into the swing of things. ;)

Good good :) I'm finding it hard to get to grips with Objective-C to be honest, its so easy to crash your app with a single formatting error!

i'm being derided at work over this

I've been warning work that the Iphone OS is going to become as dominant for the app market as itunes has become for Mp3 downloads.

The in-app purchase is going to send developers cash registers ringing around the globe. My mates at work are all ranting about the fact its not open source, you're forced to use itunes, and cant use DRM music not bought from itunes, its too restrictive etc..

But with over 6 million users and counting, its only a matter. Whatever you say about the apple experience, you cant deny the quality and thought that goes into it. And as the MMS app comming to OS 3.0 prooves - apple listens to its customers, and the developers.
