I doubt they'll be tinkering with the resolution as it's a bit of a big change to drop on developers at the last minute.. same with the rumours of the next one being a flip phone with a fold out keyboard
It's fairly certain the new iPhone will have built in GPS from the leaks we've had. Any dev who could be bothered to write software under the new SDK could write/port sat nav software to the iPhone OS X platform. Google maps would do me though, really.
I'd imagine the dongle would come with it's own software and IF the iPhone 2 has GPS built in it will use Google maps.
There's currently no GPS libraries in the SDK so if anyone is writing apps for it they are doing so under a different version of the libraries and under NDA
Because there is no software to use it.. it's a bit different to buying a dongle for a PC or Windows Mobile device So either they are working on their own, or they are working with Apple to make it compatible with whatever GPS stuff 2.0 brings, if any.
I was suprised that it hadnt been included in the last couple of firmware upgrades to be honest.
It needs to be in there for a lot of people in the UK to take it seriously. Personally I email my images around!
