Seems like a lot of people with 5th gen iPods are having probs with their right earphones. Either the start to crackle or die compleatly - this seems just as common with stock buds as it is with expensive 3rd party earphones.

Anyone here had this problem?

This seems to be a hardware problem rather than headphone problem as the G5 is blowing right channel of anymake of headphone!

Yup, I'm starting to hear crackles in my right channel. Mostly on bass-heavy music but it is definitely noticeable.

The earphones are Bang & Olufsen A8 which normally performs flawlessly. At least if it does break, they swap out without any fuss (2 year warranty), but it would still be a hassle nevertheless.

Will be monitoring both Head-Fi and iLounge threads closely but Head-fi forums is forever down :(

Yep happened with my new 5G, as well as my old 3G.

Tbh they are so poor compared to other earphones you really should buy a decent set if you want to hear good music.

Got some E3C's here and lovin it.

what are you on about

I've been using my shure e2c's with the ipod 5g video 60b with no problems whatsoever. I think time will tell as to how many people are suffering from this problem.

Yeah, just get new headphones!

I've never used my apple headphones, think they are still in the box...in the loft. But to agree with you all, my Mother has an iPod Shuffle and she complained maybe 3 days ago now that her right ear phone had been playing up.

Saying that I use mine in the car via an iTrip and never really use the headphone port. So can't say mine has gone wrong yet.

I wouldn't say it's a reason not to buy one unless it really concerns you. If it comes to it then Apple will fix/replace it anyway. I hadn't heard about this before I got mine, but I've had no problems relating to this.

Well it does. Im not keen on having my headphones blown up.

According to iLounge forums, Apple will only replace Apple Headphones, and not 3rd party ones.
