No I don't remember that either. Seems 'Ripper' has just come to mean killer of prostitutes. I think Sutcliffe also killed a couple of women who were not whores. Is that also true of Jack?

Nah - I'm pretty sure all Jack's victims were prostitutes, or 'sex workers' to use the stupid PC term the BBC have been using for the last few days ...

Sutcliffe attacked a lot of women who were not prostitutes. BTW the name Jack the Ripper came from the signature of a letter from the murderer, though the police at that time thought it most likely a hoax from a journalist.

I can tell you with a million % accuracy that the media was fed the hammer/strangling story about Sutcliffe but the coppers knew what he really did and thats how they identified the victims to Sutcliffe.
I thought it was common knowledge now though.

I totally ignore what the media put out in a case like this. They're told what to say by the Police in order to wind up or otherwise get the perp to make a mistake.

I say the killer is a woman.
