iRacing

Just done an 80 minutes of Spa race in the MP4, need a lie down.

Started 24th and finished 15th, I didn't crash, spin, hit anyone or mess up anyone lapping me in the Riley.

I did have 18 "Inc" at the end, but a lot of those were from letting guys past and compromising myself. I think some of them are are very harsh, especially the exit of Blanchimont.

All that for +34 iRating and -0.01 SR

what was your fuel strat mate, how much you start and how much did you use at the pit stop. I have no idea about which way to go fuel wise, think ill stretch it out as my setup seems balanced with race fuel in. Can do 2:21's - low 2:22's with 25 gallons in no sweet.

Managed 2:20.765 running with Liam just BTW nice laps liam think you hit the 22's towards the end. Are you using the setup I shared the other day ? Seems to work well at SPA.

Will try to get a race in Thursday need to run a proper fuel test before I do.

I has 24 gallons to start, and added the same at the pit stop. There wasn't any strategy, I just wanted to finish. I think I completed 37 laps, I refuelled with about 25 minutes left so probably carried too much fuel in the second stint.

You two are a good two seconds faster than me, I managed a 2.24 in the race with an optimum of a high 2.22.

I think I managed to get a high 2.21 at some point. They were some nice laps we did although I think you probably had a heavier car since I was only running 15 gallons.

I was using your setup, yeah. I rather like it.

Where can I find this magical setup that's going to find me two seconds? :D

I'll pm it you next time I'm at the pc. Drop fuel out of it last night and did a qualifying session on it came in with a 22's np barley pushing. Spa is a nightmare to get a clean lap. Still need to test race distance on it but I've fueled it up to 25 gallons last night managed to get about 15 laps on it felt good. We may need to look at tire pressures between the 3 of us. Other than that I think its a nice set. Liam looked very stable on it

Even when I was sticking it up his inside.

Edit
Seems I did a 2:21.437 In Q session so defiantly hit me up for the set. If you not busy tomorrow evening we can get the 3 of us to do a test run in race trim. 3 Heads are better than one when it comes to tweaking tire pressures.

Just did my first race in the Skippy, don't think it went too badly. My main goal was to just do the race without crashing/taking anyone off and I almost done that except for when I went wide at one corner and lost control of the car.

Not complaining about 5th though :)

Tomorrow evening is good for me from about 8 o clock onwards. Though I doubt I'll be of any use setup wise.

Nice one.

I bought the car and I still haven't done anything in it other than a few test laps. Non of which were clean. I think I'll stick to the McLaren for now.

I just bought a bunch of new tracks to get me through the Skip series. Haven't had much chance to test them but wowww Road America is so much fun! Having stuck with pretty much the base iRacing content for over a year, this feels so fresh and exciting.

There is something to be said for making you pay for stuff in this way. If I'd got all these tracks at the start like a traditional retail game, I'd never have this feeling, as you're just spoilt for choice.

I don't really want to get any higher than class C for a while. Don't want to race with people who are way above my skill level :p

Grr maintenance.

There is no downside to being a higher class. The match making is done purely by iRating anyway. Licence level just decides what you can drive.

Ah, okay. I think I'll have a bit more fun now though since before I was racing purely to get my SR up buy now I can push the car a bit more and not complain too much about getting an off track.

Murray, what series are you racing in with the Mclaren? I'm D now but can't see a series that features it - are you just doing practice runs? You seem to be doing well and I suppose some people are just naturally good at racing (you git!). My mate came over yesterday and had a go. Within 30 mins he was hitting my lap times! I must be one of the naturally average players :(

It was either the Mclaren, Skippy or a NASCAR as I actually like oval races (oh the shame!). Out of the Mclaren or Skippy which would you say is better? Plan on buying one this weekend.

A mate just joined so I received the referral bonus. He also bought my wheel off me so I purchased a T500RS kit. I'm finding it a heavy wheel to turn even with dampening turned off? Anyone else have one? The G27 was very light and this one is very heavy haha!

I was doing practice runs with it while in Class D but you need to be Class C to actually race it. Between the Mclaren and the Skippy...Hmm. It depends really, the Mclaren is a lot easier to drive where as the Skippy takes quite a bit of practice just to be able to lap while keeping it on the track. Quite a few people here drive the Mclaren so you could always join us for practice runs and such :)
