What do you use for snipping and recording replays out of interest?

If there's a race I want to use I save it after the race from in game. Just click on the save icon. Then from the website go to events then replays. That's were your saved replays are. I load the replay and then use the in game controls and FRAPs to record what I want. Then Windows Movie Maker to edit and convert.

My play at the minute is to just getting into Class D so I can race some new cars. I'm getting quite close to the auto promotion actually.

Really want to race the Skip Barber cars..

Be warned, it's a very difficult car to drive.

Borrish added you just, murray what was your in game name, same as the other new guys whats your in game names, I like the Mx5 roadster so would be happy to drive some laps with you.

Added a couple more of you going on now for some laps

So I gave in and subbed for a month, had a quick practise in the MX5 at LRP and managed a consistent 59.5-1:00 dead - not bad for 10 months away.

As it's W13 I started from the pits, 20 cars is worrying, worked my way up to 10th with a BIG slide on the way down the pit straight literally sideways all the way up to pit entry. Thankfully no harm done.

Come the last lap and I've been tailing 8 and 9th who were scraping, much slower than me, they both make a mistake so I casually pull by to overtake on the SECOND TO LAST corner of the LAST LAP and you've guessed it... one swerves me and takes me out.

Oh well, see you in another 9-10 months! :D

See I found it difficult as well for the few races I did with it. Yet lots of people recommend it as a good road car to start with once you get your D license. Would you suggest a different one then?

I'd stick with the Mazda and do the Grand Touring series.

Bought the MP4, Skip Barber and the first 4 tracks that the MP4 is doing last night. Its a really fun car to drive. Takes a while to get used to after the Mazda though.

Be aware that if you try too downshift to quickly the McLaren will just ignore the request for that gear. You can also get a situation were the car goes from 3rd to neutral under heavy braking and high revs. From what I've read on the forum it's not a bug it's part of the McLaren's software to stop you doing damage to the engine.

I never downshift quickly anymore after I blew the engine in the Mazda doing it :p

Spa is amazing in this game, feels so different/better compared to any other games its in.

That's because its laser scanned welcome to "the way its meant to be drove" :D
I find this with every track on the service, if I go to another game and play the same track its comical and feels terrible. I know you said to me dam the tracks are expensive, but for what you are getting its day light robbery In your favour.

A tenner for such a high detailed track and accurate to within 2mm :D I'ts one of the things that really sets I-racing apart from every other racing sim out there.

You will find this with most the tracks you play on I-racing. Once you have driven laser scanned, you will just laugh at everything else.

PS Nice driving last night mate. You seem to of picked the MP4 up pretty well you was within a second of me which isnt to bad at all, I'm normally one of the fatest drivers on a server in it. I've found since buying it couple of weeks ago.

Yeah, Spa is the first track I've done in other games as well and it really is a big difference. Looking forward to racing next season in the MP4 :)

By the time they get the laser scanners all the way around the 'Ring, they'll have to start again because the surface will have changed :D

Spa is indeed great, but I think the track borders are a little harsh in places - too easy to pick up a whole load of 'off-track' incidents.

Does Project Cars use laser scanned tracks too? That's looking interesting.

I have to say that it's fun watching real life dash cams around the iRacing tracks and you almost feel as if you're driving them hitting the same bumps!

I think they plan to have some. It isn't that great a game though, graphically it looks nice but I always thought the cars handled horribly and I recently got a refund and spent it on iRacing :p
