iRacing

I'm racing in the GT3 series in the Ruf.

I'll be Mark J Turner on your list.

One more day of Watkins Glen, then it's 70 minute races at Road America for a week.

Yer you should still be there. Cool I want to test the MP4 against the RUF where the GT3 at this week ?? Bet its a track I dont have. :D Typical with Iracing

I sort of said the tracks in the post you quoted :D

Watkins Glen for the last time today and then Road America for the rest of the week.

hehe that survival was epic xD so glad I specc'd. hope you saved the reply ;)

aww gutted :( no oval? :( awwww! I've managed two TTs on the road jefferson tiny rubbish track xD last one I did 10 clean laps off the bat :D granted I was slow as hell with a 1.03.xxx best 8 time haha xD but I did actually lose control one and ended in the grass 2 or 3 times but I think I managed to keep it just controlled enough not to get any incidents xD too pro ;) or track has like 20ft run offs into the grass lol :p

I will still race oval with you mate, just I want to get to the RUF as quick as possible :D

woop woop, nuts mentioned some private races possibly too :D so we can all be in the same race rather than leaving it to chance :p

yea I should probably work on my road a bit too.... slowly but surely ;)

really not worried about oval races now I've run a few and seen that it's mostly others that are behind my incidents (them spinning out and no where for me to go).

need to work on how to get the run on someone, maybe a bit more aggressive too? there were several instances where going round the bends I'd follow my swooping line to try and catapult myself around the line and the car infront would drift a bit high, big enough to fit in.... so noticing this I tried to take advantage but when ever I was just getting a nose in that gap the guy would swing back down and I'd let off so I don't ram/pit him. losing the time/distance I've just gained only to have to make it up again. this situation is what caused the narrowly escaped crash by nuts in his race, car up front was running low/mid in the corner, guy behind gets the nose in by the back wheel as he has a good steady line, dude infront comes down and pits himself on the other car.

I would deffo be up for some private races, there are a few of us on here so we could get a nice little grid :D

I have the same problem when trying to overtake, especially at Charlotte. I get level and im on the inside but they always come down on me so I let off so we dont wreck, rather annoying tbh

yeah would be great :D can do some horrid road courses too ;)

yeah exactly! I did manage to pull one one good overtake in the same situation (with the same car but they got me back again lol). but I was gaining on the dudes (think It was actually a woman, dudette's) bumper and holding the line and then they just got a toe on the apron and went wide, about mid way up the bend. I was still carrying momentum so managed to stick it and just called saying I was passing on their inside and they kept they position mid corner :) then ofcourse I bottle it a few laps later so lose that position.

just had an oval race.. started 13th ended 10th... may have gotten higher but had to avoid an accident then couldn't catch the pack :(

but my irating went down o.O sure it should go up as I ended better than I started? lol :p

You only started there because you didn't qualify. If I remember correctly irating you gain/lose is based on the strength of field and how you finish. Either 10th wasn't very better or the SoF was pretty low.

well I had a qualifying time ;) everyone did

strength of field was the highest I've been in yet :\ but yea....10th out of 15 i think? not really great haha xD

Finished 7th in The Legends car today at Lime Rock from a 12th place start, but oh man is that car a handful to drive!!!

I was well off the pace of the leaders.

Ah okay. I was just used to no one ever qualifying in races until I got to Class B/A :p

iRating is a weird thing.

As a general rule iRating will go up if you finish in the top half of the field, and go down in the bottom half of the field. It is possible to gain, or not lose any, in the bottom half but you have to have a particularly low iRating in comparison to the others around you.

ah yeah makes sense I suppose :D and now an oval with braking xD oh lordy, we all gonna die!

and wait.... the mx-5 race is now on the oval road course, hopefully be able to navigate this better than the jefferson xD

Ran some Road America Last night in the MP4. Those RUF's dont half fly there. Was hard to stay anywhere near the fast guys. Think I was running 2:06. Terrible

race fuel.... wait.... they have different fuels in game too?!?!?! oh lord! please don't tell me this it "pay to win" like the premium shells in world of tanks hahaha! all the money bags going round with race fuel and the rest of us peasants pottering about with supermarket pump gas? :p

Rookie has fixed set up and fuel levels.

Other series allow for set up changes which includes fuel adjustments.

Depending on how you drive it has an effect on fuel consumption, so may need more or less than others depending on your driving style.

Also the length of some races require a pit stop, so again, fuel levels play a part.

There is no pay to win.

okies good good :) had a horrible thought that "race fuel" was like a premium purchase but if it's available across the board then people can do what they want :D
