I've got my eyefinity set-up now....WOW! Need to tweak the FOV settings a bit but i can tell it's going to be awesome to race with.

Just tried the Radical for the first time ever around Watkins Glen with the NTM, last time I tried the Radical it was first release and just wrong.

The Radical is waaaay better, the FFB is really good too, very true to the slick behavior and the lack of fondness to curbs that the Radical has. It also gives up grip when you rough it about, quick drop off of the grip envelope too. WAY better than the last time I tried it which was some fidgety awful mess, nothing like the real car.

I only did 10 laps and my best was 1:06.9 on the base setup. Not sure what I should be doing to be competitive? Is it open setup?

cool, try aim for the 1.05's mate, the baseline set 1 of my sets and its a 26 wing so its a good half sec off the pace, go on the forums theirs some decent 17 wing sets...

i keep wrecking myself entering the carousel...

borrish man you gunna love it, post a pic...

I'll have a play with the setup.

I still think I want to go GT class as I've always preferred tintops, problem is I need about $120 of content (cars and tracks) to race, which seems obscene as I just paid $99 for the year and bought Fanatec wheel and pedals at £400!

just buy what tracks you want to race you dont have to buy them all...

Dont really understand this time trial business.
doing a time trial at lime rock park, and on the "F1" screen i can see i need to do 8 laps , but how do i know at what speed they must be completed in, as keep finding myself likes of 5/8 then arrrghhhhhhh   it resets to 0/8

Congrats Steve, now I need to get a 4.6 :p

joedeath, TT's are about how quickly you can lap on average without getting any incidents, there's no minimum speed or anything but even a 0x contact (more a problem on ovals :p) will reset the counter...

Urgh. I'm having a nightmare trying to get the FOV to look right. I'm trying to set-up up with 3 seperate screens being rendered but one of them always looks off. Like the angles will be completely off from the centre screen to the right side one so the mirror for example will suddenly change angle? :s

man im still not happy with mine, but im using 133 FOV if that helps and im about 30" away...

I'm using 137 at the moment. It's like whichever screen is on the passenger side looks a bit distorted. The drivers side one is perfect.

it must be 8 clean laps one after another.

Thanks for the fast reply :)

There's an order history section in the account page, always 'fun' to tot up just how much you've spent

Yeah, the draft is gonna be the key to getting a really good q time, but that either means luck or running as a pair which is kinda meh, although might be interested to try and see just how well it could be organised, a good tow can save you 1-2 tenths though...

You don't have to stay in till the end in either qualifying or TT sessions, everything you do is recorded anyway, although it can take a while before the results show up, and if you're doing TT's for SR then you obviously want to do as many laps as possible so staying the whole session is generally the plan.

Yeah need to get in a quali sesh with some one on the same pace so they give you a proper toe, still t1 makes or brakes a lap...

Hopefully gunna be some proper good racing here...

Yeah, I was thinking about it on the ride in this morning, I reckon the best tactic would be (assuming the other guy was around the same pace):

Time it so that you exit the last turn ~1 second behind the other guy, in the tow but not massively, means you get a bit of extra speed down into T1 but the corners definitely clear.

Then obviously should be 0.8-1s out of T1, depending on the tow I'm guessing you'll want to be clear into the loop/carousel, so the leader either going to the inside and braking or just running deep into the loop leaving the line clear, but obviously if there's still 0.5+ behind then stay on line and give a tow down the next straight as well (at which point definitely inside and brake...)

So yeah, I was clearly bored earlier and thinking about this a bit :p Obviously practice could change some/all of that but from what I saw yesterday that should make a good lap :p

Yeah that makes sense mate, like you say being too close going into the carousel could cost you the lap...

Have you decided if your gunna do quali yet???

Not sure still, on the one hand I've probably got the pace even without drafting to get a few poles and hence a win or two 'by default', but on the other hand without qualifying I get the fun of some racing for at least the first few laps but far less likely to win...

Trying not to even think about the division yet, don't like it when I get one decent result and then don't race anymore :p

Stats or Fun :p
