i dont like the small tracks the late model runs, shame really..

mate its my birthday friday so im taking the day off, ill be racing thursday for definite and ill give friday morning a shot if 1 goes live.

if you have steam add me mate...

Short tracks are great, none of this foot flat to the floor rubbish :p

Good to hear, and happy birthday in advance, hopefully get several official races in and then I'll be happy. I'll add you to Steam this evening although I'm not on all that often (only fire it up when playing something other than iRacing, which is rare :))

It grows on you, it also gets amusing when you make a strategy call in the trucks/impala's and get told you're clearly doing it wrong due to the big England sticker on the back of your car, only to beat those who think they're the only ones that can turn left :p

Yeah, at the world cup thing I could get 1:05.6's with a full tank so I'd think pushing could get a tenth or two lower, the joys of no real braking/slow corners :)

Yeah I had to tell some yank last night who said we didn't belong here on the oval.

I like the late model but I want to race the trucks, they just appeal to for some reason but now I'm used to that street stock set I kinda like that..

Then glen classic is about as easy a track as it gets really, I'm getting abit bored with it now need to race I've not raced officialy since oulton park...

Thanks for the birthday wishes mucker...

Yeah, quite a boring track, shame we couldn't have the boot section, that makes it into a far more fun track imo, still a bit simple but nowhere near as bad...

Nice from the yank, I remember back on the beta of the NTM I was in a race and me and a Brazilian guy stayed out on a late caution and got berated by some of the other drivers and how we'd be going backwards with old tyres, iirc we finished 2nd and 3rd (and I was down in the high teens before the caution), they didn't mention it again after the race for some reason :p

I sometimes enjoy the bigger oval cars, but not as much, the races being so long doesn't help, it even makes it worse when you get wrecked out early as you've prepped yourself for being sat there for more than an hour and you can be done in 10 minutes. It's different though, actually thinking for ~2/3rds of the race that all you want to do is avoid the nutjobs and trundle around is a completely different attitude to road racing where you want to avoid the nutjobs but push really hard whilst doing so :p

so tempted to get back into racing games :S

is the g27 really worth the extra over a DFGT for someone whos likely to just play casually an hour or two a day?

Probably not no, the DFGT wheel is very good, the pedals are a bit 'meh' but usable, if you sim raced a lot you'd want either the G2x wheels or just a new set of pedals (clubsport/CST's) but for an hour or two no need to bother...

I wouldn't say so, I managed to get my DFGT from Amazon marketplace for £65 it came all boxed, immaculate condition and with all the plastic still covering the wheel etc.

no way 200+ frames on spa, no drops???

i have a i7 2600k @ 4.5 and 1.5gb gtx 580's in sli and on max mine drops to the 70's some times...

I'd say across your 3x 24 inch screens at 1080p your going to be Vram limited.
May be worth checking to see if your drops are Vram related.

Game doesn't seem that heavy at all really its seems to run brilliant specially for the amount of eye candy on show.

Im using a 460gtx 1gig and to be fair even on one 24 inch screen teh games eats up my vram, maybe thats why you spike down G worth checking mate.

For multi-screen gaming 1.5gig of vram is nothing.

I get 200 + at Spa and the lowest it hits is 125 but i only have a single 24 inch screen and a 2600 @ 5 gig and water cooled 6990 + 6970 no way will current high end kit do 200 plus with 3 screens on max detail.

I know 1.5gb aint the best but a 6950 only has 2gb so it aint much more, so there's now way that it can pull 200 frames + on spa constant, my 2 580's are faster than a 6950 by a fair old way aseell...

I agree with john, look at the horse power he has and big amount of vram and he still drops to 125 frames on spa on 1 24" screen let alone 3...

yer your 580 destroys the 6950, I dont believe its running 3 screens at 200fps myself G.

just saying didnt no you only had the 1.5gig version that may be why you spike down, as if it pops over to 1600mb vram needed you dont half take a spike when it runs out.
"x 580s and a i7 your should be eating this game for breakfast mate.

I had it on bf3 solid 60-90 fps then all off a sudden a big spike where my frames would drop to half... tried every setting under the son, turned out to be vram. and if you havent got enough your performance doesnt half take a hit for a split second while it pages.

In the gfx options theres a slider you can adjust that alters the amount of vram the game uses so you can turn it down if you think your running out or mem.

I'd recommend the Thrustmaster F430 over the DFGT any day of the week and I've owned both, I currently have an F430, G25 and Fanatec.

Just re-subscribed. Went karting yesterday and my limited iRacing experience (lots of practising!) came in much handier than I expected!

Are there ever special offers on content?
