I really don't think you're doing too badly, you're less than 3 tenths off my best from last night, and I've driven the circuit enough to know it pretty well, as Simon said it's a lot to learn, especially in the radical with the low grip here, I learnt it in the Skippy where it was no less grip from anywhere else, and just a touch slower/easier :p

I'm running 178 apparantly, I just guesstimated figures for the calculator thing and then tweaked it to feel...

im gunna keep trying but doubt ill run this weekend...
 
It kinda makes sense to feel slow here (I do a bit compared to Oulton), because there's far less grip than last week you can't attack so much, it feels like you end up braking down to walking pace, tip-toe'ing around the corner before having to be really gentle on the throttle or you'll spin up. It feels slow but it's the same for everyone :)

91 is crazy, the narrower the fov the 'faster' it seems, might be ok for an alien but I just couldn't drive that at all :p

i just tried it, and went straight back to 133 lol forget that...

im making no progress at all here, really not enjoying it...
 
heh, definitely sounds like time for a rest :)

Not sure you'll be missing many particularly great races anyway, can see it being massively attrition based, but we'll see on Sunday :)

Hoping to get some more practice and a Q session done tomorrow to get me ready to just jump in when I get back, but I'll definitely try at least one race, got SR to waste :p
 
I'm really struggling mate, never had this much bother with a track for a while.

Mind I got my new phone today so I'm abit pre occupied...

I know how to get round the track fast but I just can't put it together, I've got a opt of 22 flat ffs...
 
I think my optimal is in the 20's, seems like that kind of place where the difference between optimal and reality is huge (bit like Suzuka...), but yeah, very tricky track so it's understandable :)

I do love it though :D
 
Tried the free trial with an xbox controller and I liked how finely the physics were done and the sounds! Definitely deserves using something better as its steering is all over the place now

Its not that I don't like it now mate, I just can't string a lap together never mind race..

I'd be happy if could get in the 22's but I'm 2.5 seconds off my opt lol...

Ah well least it gives me some time to master my nemisis corner that is the chicane at spa...
 
2.5 seconds off here as well, and for race pace I'm gonna have to be further off to ensure I do stay on track :)

Spa should be interesting, lots of scope for 1x if it's anything like the HPD and Skippy around there, with all this practice you're gonna get I assume they'll be a great setup ready to go on Tuesday? :p
 
Yeah my normal racing line from other games gets me 2 1x..

I'm gunna start practicing at the weekend I need a little brake I've been on it loads latley, that last turn on the chicane I need to master...

I tell you tho stephen giers sets are awesome, but I will be making my own, think lots of the lads will be running 17 wing...

Just ordered my spanking new Clubsport pedals :D hopefully my laptimes will come down as i always seem to be 1 second off the pace and cant find it anywhere :rolleyes:

Be interesting to see, so far no where has really benefited much from the 17 wing, and I can only imagine what Eau Rouge would be like :eek:

Is it the Chicane at the end that you have the problems with or the one after Eau Rouge? It's odd, I 'obviously' know the Spa layout but not really done much around here, some practice and I think there was one race in the Late Model and that was it, could be interesting...

Be interesting to see if you find that second, I'm really not sure whether pedals can make up that difference, I guess I'd need to spend some money personally to prove to myself whether they can or not :)
 
Its the last chicane josh its always been a prob for me, I loose so much time there..

I love the look of the clubsports and peeps that use them say there awesome, but the horror storys put me off, but saying that its only the peeps with probs that voice them so there must be a lot more happy users, it still niggles me tho..

I'm not sure they will make you faster but they will make you more consistant.

Did you order them direct from fanatec? How much including delivery? How long is delivery time???

yes direct from their site including shipping works out about £186, as for delivery i have no idea haven't recieved an email yet only ordered a few hours ago i'll keep you posted :D

Great pedals i love mine but if you can get the tuning kit with them as i didnt like the brake until i moved it to the 2nd hole and changed the spacer bar to the one in the kit.

Also in iracing set the brake curve to 0.00 for load cell brake.
