iRacing

Well, I scared myself there :p Going into T1 I shifted down to 2nd, spun around, heading at high speed backwards towards the wall praying I didn't hit it whilst watching the gap close down on F3 :s

Luckily I didn't hit the wall, and by flooring it and rejoining a bit harshly (although there was still a ~2 second gap when I rejoined the racing line, just he was going much quicker), then taking the inside line into the loop I kept my lead and managed to break him by being a chunk quicker in the last two turns, phew :p


What really happened to you, I saw you go out at the second to last corner on lap 1, then something else happened later on as well? I'm sure the next one will be better for you :)

You must be gutted though, you had the pace for 2nd easily, and with the draft here I wouldn't have bet against you pressuring me into a mistake, I was trying to break you on that first lap but it didn't seem to be working...
 
broke too late going into the 2nd last corner as i had a good toe from you went abit wide and lost it, went into pits and only did required so my car was abit sketchy when i came out but only seemed to effect me at t1.

then later on in the race when i was behind you just locked up randomly into t1 and into the wll.

really really annoyed with myself, to the point were i could just give up...

heh, no worries, I would be too, but these things happen, you'll forget all about it by the end of the next race :p
 
Ah, forgot to mention, I did remember to check, which kinda shocked me and I had exactly 1 gallon left apparently, so if I'd selected 12.1 gallons I would've run out as I went over the line...
 
Yep I would, my pace wasn't stunning so if you/I had to push/had a draft I could see it cutting out earlier with 12.1, so 13.1 is the only real option unless you want to take a gamble for the sake of a few hundredths :p

Planning to, may lose track of time though :p
 
Well if only the last race went like that, enjoyed that and I needed it.

Only down side is because of my 1st race disaster I was taking the 2nd last turn like a abit of a fanny.but happy with 2nd...

Had to defend for the first feew laps aswell as andrej was bang in the draft behind me but managed to shake him, then had a couple of daft back markers..

Josh You lost me quite early on so I knew I wouldn't catch you easily so just maintained the gap to p3.

Josh peeps are gunna start calling you a alien 2 for 2 well done mate and awesome fastest lap...
 
heh, not so sure about being called an alien, ultimately you were my only competition in both and you kinda gifted it to me, so cheers :p

Is nice though, only managed 3 wins total last season, now 2 in one evening :D

The lap was nice to get, I was a bit disappointed that I hadn't got a 1:04 in the first race, that did need a draft but once I got it I was happy and stopped trying to go quite so quickly (had a few moments trying to get the 4 before that :p)

Glad you got a good race in, told ya it wouldn't be so bad after the next race :)
 
I wish I never wrecked 1st race like I did, as it did knock my confidence abit.

I was proper annoyed with myself after the time I've put in...

Yeah we were defo the fastest on the grid but you had the edge over me as normal, think if I was taking the last 2 corners how I was before my disaster it might of been abit cloaser...
 
That was fun, just did (and won ¬_¬) a 3rd of the evening \o/

Not quite as smooth as the other 2 though, got an 'ok' start compared to the really good starts in the last 2, which caused an italian who got a great start to get the inside into T1, then Kat got past as well. Both were comfortable slower really, Q times of 1:05.5's iirc, but I really haven't done much following around there since last season so kept making silly mistakes and they were defending really well, but finally got into the lead after 5 or 6 laps of great racing and from there it went smoothly, for me at least, in fact I came in 1 lap and 8 seconds ahead of second place...

Also, another good bit, I set another 1:04.8 race lap, but this time with no tow \o/

Depends what bits you like of rfactor, the graphics and physics are far superior imo (to rfactor 1, quite close between iRacing and rfactor 2), but rfactor does have the silly amount of mods/cars/tracks (albeit with widely varying levels of quality) compared to iRacing which has a smaller array of content but all very high quality, arguably better than the best rfactor content...

But then there's also the price, way way more money than rfactor, but imo it's worth every penny (or cent...)
 
I managed to wreck two Italians in one go \o/ Well i say me, he almost lost it going through the esses and then cut right across my nose. I got stuck in a wall and had to tow :(

Still, i had a good race up until that point and I still manage to come 11th out of 22 by not quitting :p

heh, didn't realise that was you, I guess congrats on 11th after being taken out :p :)
 
The mods you'll miss then, netcode I didn't think the rfactor netcode was anything special? not done any online stuff in it so not sure but seen videos of cars running 'inside' others? Either way the iRacing netcode is generally very very good and allows for great close racing, but there are inevitably instances where something goes awry and you get the 'phantom' hits...

Community is good, if a little rage/nonsense filled in the general forums, there's a club england which had recently merged to celtic to be "UK & Ireland" which is a lot more sane, good banter, club leagues etc

I'd say give it a go, the deal in the OP is still valid and the best iirc, for a relatively nothing price you get to give it a go for the first 3 months and see if you get hooked :)

In other news, went for a 4th race, which was clearly a mistake, was in the lead (from pole, again) when I downshifted once too many into the loop, queue me hitting the wall, repairs etc etc, finished 8th, 10 laps down :(
